Cyberpunk 2077 Already Discounted In Amazon Holiday Game Sale

Despite coming out only a little over a week ago, last-gen versions of CD Projekt Red's controversial Cyberpunk 2077 are already receiving a discount via Amazon's ongoing holiday games sale. Many other games are included in the sale as well, with some titles being marked up to 72 percent off.

Since its long awaited release just under two weeks ago, Cyberpunk 2077 has been in the news nonstop, and for all the wrong reasons. From mildly annoying bugs to game breaking item glitches, to the game's unprecedented removal from the PlayStation Store, calling its release rocky would be an understatement. While the game continues to face numerous bugs, CD Projekt Red is working to patch as many of the issues as possible, with the latest patch, Hotfix 1.05, being released a few days ago.

CD Projekt Red has asked for players' patience while it rolls out these patches and, if any players reading this want to meet the studio halfway, Amazon has the PlayStation4 and Xbox One versions of Cyberpunk 2077 both listed as 17% off. If gamers want to buy Cyberpunk 2077 for a discount, they can also get it by Christmas Eve if they have Amazon Prime (the discount only appears to apply to physical disc versions; Amazon does offer a digital code for the Xbox One, but it is not on sale). The Amazon listing also offers free returns for Cyberpunk 2077, which has also been a reoccurring theme for the RPG.

However, if Cyberpunk 2077 is not on players' Christmas list, Daily Video Game has compiled a list of other games included in Amazon's sale, some of which are marked for 72% off. Notable standouts include Assassin's Creed Valhalla for $39.99, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War for $59.94, Watch Dogs Legion for $29.98, and Resident Evil 2 for $16.99.

So, if Cyberpunk 2077 has fallen off of players' holiday shopping lists, there are still other viable games out there on sale. Or, perhaps certain players still have faith in CD Projekt and its ability to turn the game around, and are willing to pick up Cyberpunk 2077 on sale while the developers roll out more patches.

Although, considering the state of the game currently, that might be a step too far for most. While Cyberpunk 2077 is not the only game to have a disastrous launch, it also had insanely high standards to live up to after years of teaser trailers and delays. Needless to say, the game has not lived up to those expectations and it remains to see what long-term damage this has done to CD Projekt's reputation.
