Emily Maynard of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette appeared on The Bachelor: Greatest Seasons - Ever! on Monday night to discuss her relationship with Brad Womack. She also talked about life after The Bachelor. Her discussion with The Bachelor producer Chris Harrison revealed what she’s up to now, and how she feels about her time on the show.
Emily first appeared on Tthe popular reality dating show in 2011, at 24 years of age. She accepted Brad Womack’s proposal at the end of season 15, but the two broke off their relationship the same year. She was then selected as the new Bachelorette for season 8 of the show, in 2012. Emily chose Jef Holm at the end of her season, but the couple broke their engagement in October of 2012. Emily has a daughter from a previous relationship with Ricky Hendrick. Rick died before their daughter, Ricki, was born.
Now 34, Emily looked back on her time on The Bachelor in Monday night’s episode of The Bachelor: Greatest Seasons--Ever! as reported by Yahoo Entertainment. The episode featured Brad Womack’s second turn as Bachelor, so she spoke predominantly about their relationship. In her interview with Chris Harrison, Emily said of the engagement: “It didn’t last so long, but I take a lot of the blame for that too.” She cited their 10-year age difference as a major point of contention. “We just had different ideas of what the future looked like,” Brad said during his interview. Emily said, “I didn’t have the maturity to deal with all of that. And it was really hard. We both put in a lot of work traveling back and forth and all of that, but I think we both knew, ‘This is just not fun anymore.’” Brad Womack from Bachelor Nation had similar sentiments about the relationship, saying, “It was a brutal breakup because I did fall in love with her very, very quickly and very deeply.” Brad also said it was very difficult to watch Emily on her season of The Bachelorette; “Not only was my heart broken,” he said, “every Monday night on national television, [she was there].”
After The Bachelorette, Emily finally found true love with her husband, Tyler Johnson. Tyler is a car salesman and wildlife conservationist. The couple put down roots in North Carolina with their three sons, Gibson, Gatlin, and Jennings. Emily said in her interview that Brad actually texted her when she got married. He wanted to congratulate her. “He’s so respectful,” she said, “I have nothing but good words to say about Brad.” Meanwhile, Brad lives in Austin, Texas, where he owns several bars with his brother, Chad Womack. He Brad Womack's partner is fitness specialist, Jena Mays, who has been with him since 2017. He confirmed this on The Bachelor: Greatest Seasons--Ever! Brad doesn’t have any social media, but Jena posts about him on occasion. As Emily said, “It all works out”. She right, even it takes two turns on The Bachelor and about 10 years.
