Viz Media has announced a new art book for The Promised Neverland. This hit manga series may have concluded its run - as has its anime adaptation - but now fans have this new publication to look forward to! Viz has announced several new manga series and novels over the past week and this one is definitely a highlight.
The Promised Neverland is a hit shōnen manga that was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 2016 to 2020. It was created by Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu. The manga has won numerous awards including two Mandō Kobayashi awards, a Manga Shinbun Taishō award, two awards from the Japan Expo Awards, and three best manga awards (Shogakukan Manga Award, Mangawa Awards, and French Babelio Readers' Awards).
On Twitter, as part of the company's New York Comic Con announcements, Viz Media revealed The Promised Neverland: Art Book World. This book includes creator commentary as well as interviews. This art book will bring together some of Posuka Demizu's beautiful work on the series. A full release date has not been provided, though it is slated for Summer 2022. This is one of many new announcements from Viz, which will be publishing new manga series and novels next summer.

The Promised Neverland tells the story of three orphans who have been raised to be food for demons. Thanks to an agreement, known as "The Promise," orphanages have been set up in a demon-infested world in the year 2045. Another world exists without demons, which the children at the orphanages are not aware of. These children are raised and take numerous tests, until they're no older than twelve. They're selected, killed, and delivered to demons in a grotesque exchange of resources. The smarter the child, the better they are perceived to be since the demons take on the children's attributes. The Promised Neverland focuses on Emma, Ray, and Norman - the three most intelligent children at their orphanage. They discover the truth and are determined to escape and save the other children who are at risk of dying in this world.
This series has been very positively received and it is a best-seller. It has been adapted into a two-season anime, which wrapped up in June of this year. It was also given a live-action adaptation in Japan, while another is in development in English by Amazon. The Promised Neverland: Art Book World is an English translation of a publication that was released in Japan in 2020. Fans who haven't had enough of The Promised Neverland will likely be very excited to revisit it once more through its art. The harrowing story of Emma and her friends may be over, but there will be plenty to enjoy when The Promised Neverland: Art Book World is released next Summer by Viz Media.
