Netflix’s Manifest: 10 Best Relationships, Ranked | ScreenRant

Since the arrival of the enigmatic Montego Air Flight 828, the passengers and those closest to them have had to deal with numerous changes in their lives unfolding over three seasons in Netflix’s Manifest. Their new normal includes shifting relationships, which have become necessary for their survival in the face of the impending Death Date.

The best relationships in Manifest highlight a unique connection and understanding between two people, whether it’s a romantic partnership, familial bond, or a close friendship. Since the show is centered around the experiences of the Stone family, most of these relationships involve them.

10 Danny & Grace Stone

It’s hard to feel any animosity towards Danny, as he’s just an unfortunate victim of strange circumstances like everyone else in the show. In fact, he’s likely one of the more likable side characters in Manifest, thanks to his storied relationship with Grace.

Danny and Grace met in a support group and the two instantly connected. Danny is exactly the type of person Grace needed after her devastating loss. He’s patient, kind, and understanding enough to let go after Ben’s unexpected return. Grace and Danny obviously love each other, but their short romance can’t compare to her long history and family with Ben. Viewers also don’t get to see their relationship too much aside from a few worried texts and some short flashbacks.

9 Jared Vasquez & Michaela Stone

Two of the best characters on Manifest are unfortunately also part of one of the worst romantic relationships on the show. Their long history with each other complicates things when Mick shows up alive after five and a half years.

There’s cheating, a broken marriage, a ton of fights, and more involved in their partnership. Thankfully, the two (mostly Jared) still have each other’s backs through it all and turn out to be better as friends than lovers. Jared is always loyal to Mick and will sacrifice anything for her, but Mick often has other priorities. After Mick’s revelation about the Major’s murder in season 3, it wouldn’t be surprising to see things go downhill between her and Jared in the final season.

8 Olive Stone & TJ Morrison

Olive and TJ’s story starts way before Flight 828’s disappearance, but they had a huge age gap back then. It’s entertaining to watch Olive’s reaction to seeing TJ again, only this time they’re both adults and immediately attracted to each other.

They’re a formidable pair when it comes to solving Callings. They bond through their interest in mythology and adventure, becoming critical to finding an ancient tarot deck that reveals Al-Zuras’ past. It’s somewhat disappointing that after Olive saves TJ from certain death, he abruptly decides to move away to Egypt. Their relationship never develops further since he’s never seen again after the end of season 2.

7 Robert Vance & Saanvi Bahl

Vance and Saanvi’s partnership starts out as a professional one. The NSA director is hesitant to trust the medical researcher at first but is impressed by her bravery while spying on the Major.

Their relationship has developed beyond professional bounds, with Vance even risking his career by covering up a murder for Saanvi. He believes in Saanvi’s ability to make sense of the mysterious events surrounding Flight 828, while Saanvi relies on him for support in Eureka. That said, Vance has mentioned that he’s an “intelligence officer first and foremost” and his loyalty will always be to his country. The pair’s individual actions can still be interpreted as deeds that mostly benefit themselves and their goals, rather than attempts to help each other.

6 Ben Stone & Robert Vance

Like most viewers during the earlier seasons of the show, Ben initially thought that Vance would turn out to be a villain on Manifest. He thankfully switches sides after realizing that the government is unjustly targeting passengers and covering up crimes.

Ben and Vance have worked tirelessly together to shed light on the mystery of Flight 828. The NSA director has sacrificed a lot for Ben and the passengers, even going as far as risking his life by staying behind in Cuba so that Ben could get away. Likewise, Ben doesn’t hesitate to risk a Calling when he learns Vance’s son is in danger. While their partnership is sometimes held back by the director’s duties, there’s no telling just how far they would go to help each other in the upcoming episodes.

5 Ben Stone & Cal Stone

Ben and Cal have a strong bond, not just because they’re father and son but also due to the fact that they were on Flight 828 together. Unlike Grace, Ben understands Cal’s fears and experiences with the Callings.

Ben will do anything to save Cal, as he’s demonstrated several times on the show. He’ll break laws, jump into an ocean, and solve endless puzzles to keep him alive. However, in his efforts to save the Lifeboat to protect his son, Ben has become preoccupied with Flight 828’s passengers. He even mentions to Grace at one point that he feels as if he’s missing out on spending time with his family, but he does little to change that.

4 Ben Stone & Saanvi Bahl

It’s fortunate that two of the best Flight 828 passengers are also best friends on the show, as they’re able to use their skills together to solve countless Callings. Ben and Saanvi get along so well because they both see the world in logical and rational ways.

Their friendship has been incredibly entertaining to watch, as they will both go to great lengths for each other. Saanvi willingly jumps into an ocean in the middle of a storm to save Ben’s son, while Ben doesn’t hesitate to put himself in danger after Saanvi is taken hostage. The only downside to their otherwise great friendship is that Saanvi has developed feelings for Ben, which could complicate things in the future.

3 Ben Stone & Grace Stone

Ben and Grace’s relationship has always been flawed, as the show reveals that even before 828’s disappearance, the two were already experiencing conflicts because of Cal’s cancer. Things become even more difficult when Ben has to deal with Danny and with explaining his and Cal’s new abilities to Grace.

Their challenging past is precisely what makes their story arc so satisfying to watch. They overcome each problem together, with Ben slowly opening up to Grace about the truth, and Grace gradually trusting Ben through each Calling. By the end of season 3, they’re an inseparable couple who love each other and their family more than anything else in the world. Although it was a rough start for the two of them, the hardships they endured together were worth it in the end.

2 Cal Stone & Olive Stone

Not even an entire plane’s disappearance is enough to separate Cal and Olive, who, according to their “twin rule,” are irreversibly bound to be loyal to each other for their entire lives. Olive plays a huge role in helping Cal adjust after his return and she reveals that she always knew he was alive the whole time he was gone — it’s a “twin thing.”

She’s protective of her (now) little brother, encouraging him to do well in school despite the odd circumstances and doing everything she can to help out with Callings when he’s kidnapped or disappears. It’s them against the world for the inseparable twins who support each other through their parents’ separation and draw strength from one another during stressful situations.

1 Michaela Stone & Zeke Landon

Mick and Zeke’s romantic relationship is special, not only because the Callings led them to each other, but also due to the fact that they have a unique shared experience that makes it easier for them to connect with each other. Zeke is the calm and stable presence that Mick needs in her life, while Mick is the strong and encouraging partner that Zeke needs to face his daily struggle with addiction.

The pair has been through so much together in just a short amount of time. With Zeke living through what he thought was the last year of his life, the two of them made sure to make every moment count. Their marriage was one of the most moving moments in the show, but it could never beat Mick’s reaction to Zeke’s resurrection by the frozen lake. It’s an understatement to say they’re good for each other, as it’s truly a perfect pairing by the Callings.
