The women from The Real Housewives typically become more famous after they join the show. Aside from housewives who got their start as models or actresses, others join the franchise as a chance to launch their own businesses, share their family, or find themselves through reality TV. However, for some housewives, The Real Housewives universe was not their first — or only — stint on reality TV.
Some housewives have crossed paths with Bravolebrities and appeared on other Bravo shows, while others have popped up in now-canceled series or reality shows on other networks. Regardless, these shows are just more opportunities to catch glimpses of beloved housewives.
In the 11th season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, fellow housewives/actresses Garcelle Beauvais and Lisa Rinna had an ongoing feud regarding their 20+ year friendship. The two grew up together in the industry and had a unique bond. However, that bond was questioned in season 11 after Lisa made some shocking decisions in RHOBH season 11 that affected Garcelle's trust.
As it turns out, these two really were close back in the day because Garcelle made an appearance in the episode "Belle Gray Party" in Lisa's former reality TV show, Harry Loves Lisa.
After the success of RHOBH, Lisa Vanderpump acted as the show's queen bee for quite some time. And as a restauranteur, Lisa's West Hollywood restaurants were prominently featured on the show. Her one restaurant, SUR, was shown throughout RHOBH while Lisa was creating and opening it. Eventually, Bravo and Lisa came together to create an RHOBH spinoff of Lisa's restaurant SUR and called it Vanderpump Rules.
The cast of Vanderpump Rules were all young dreamers with big hopes for a life in Hollywood. They were also all very close friends and dating each other, which caused great drama for reality TV. Lisa appears throughout Vanderpump Rules as the boss and middlewoman when fights break out.
Alexis Bellino is best known for her time on The Real Housewives of Orange County. She is most remembered for her dedication to her religion and being an obedient wife to her husband. After four seasons on the show, Alexis quit and never came back.
RHOC fans who wondered what Alexis was doing nowadays had their questions answered when she appeared on two episodes of Below Deck. In 2020, Alexis popped up in "The Scorpion Queen" and "Public Displays of Affection." In the episodes, Alexis shared that she was there with her new boyfriend and friends to celebrate her recent divorce.
Gizelle Bryant is one of the best parts of The Real Housewives of Potomac. Her storylines never grow tired and her one-liners only get better. Gizelle also gets into her fair share of fights on the show. Funny enough, Gizelle is so well-known in her area that she also has friends on another Bravo show, Married to Medicine.
As a friend of Dr. Heavenly, Gizelle appeared in the 2021 episode, "Let the Emojis Fly," and had dinner and drinks with the women.
Sonja Morgan is most known for her time on The Real Housewives of New York. She is a staple in the franchise and it's hard to imagine RHONY without Sonja's funny quotes, spunky comebacks, and laid-back attitude.
One of Sonja's ongoing storylines in the series is her desire for love. As a single mother, Sonja isn't quite over her divorce from 2006. Interestingly enough, her desire for romance was as strong in 2008 as it is now. She was the star in an episode of Millionaire Matchmaker, where she signed up to work with legendary matchmaker Patti Stanger to find love.
Before starring in The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kenya Moore was best known for her time on the pageant circuit. Although she's still known for her title as Miss USA and Miss Universe, it's Kenya's villainous fame on RHOA that keeps her in the spotlight.
In 2019, Kenya left Bravo to make an appearance on the E! network's Hollywood Medium. The show centered around Tyler Henry and his clairvoyant powers as he helped celebrities connect with loved ones who have passed. Kenya met with Henry in an episode that also starred Macklemore to get in touch with those around her in a touching and fulfilling episode.
Caroline and Dina Manzo became well-known in the Bravo universe after starring on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Dina only lasted a short time as a housewife, but Caroline stuck it out until she had enough. The two were a part of the best seasons of RHONJ. The Manzo sisters were involved in plenty of conflicts during their time on the show and have since had a falling out. But before their bond soured, the two were in a reality show called My Fabulous Wedding.
The episode "Dina & Tommy" premiered in 2007 on the CW network. In the show, cameras followed Dina, her fiancƩ Tommy, and her family as they planned a massive, lavish wedding. Caroline made appearances throughout the episode until Dina and Tommy said "I do." As Bravo fans know, however, Dina and Tommy didn't last and divorced in 2016.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is the newest city in the Real Housewives realm and fans have become obsessed with the cast for the busy lives they lead. And while not many of the cast have been on other shows before RHOSLC, Lisa Barlow's voice actually made a brief appearance on Bravo's Shahs of Sunset.
In the episode "Perisian Pride," Lily Ghalichi was on the phone with Lisa Barlow discussing business. Barlow is a dedicated businesswoman herself who has an alcohol brand on top of being one of the best event planners in Salt Lake City.
Kandi Burrus does not need The Real Housewives of Atlanta to stay relevant since she's an award-winning singer and songwriter. However, her appearance in RHOA is unmatched by other housewives. She is level-headed, grounded, and acts as the show's peacekeeper.
However, before she got her start of RHOA, Kandi was a part of VH1's Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. She was on the show on and off for five years and showcased her life as a singer, songwriter, and producer in Atlanta.
Tinsley Mortimer's first season on RHONY was her comeback. Tinsley was most known as a socialite and the "it girl" in New York during the early 2000s. She was at every party, sat front row at the best fashion shows, and she was incredibly wealthy. But after a fall from grace, Tinsley's reputation was squandered — that is until RHONY.
Tinsley signed on as a cast member and got herself back into the spotlight. But before her run as a housewife, she was in a reality series called High Society. The series premiered in 2010 and ran for just one season as it followed her life in New York with her famous friends.
