Destiny 2: How to Get Judgment Hand Cannon (& God Roll)

The Judgment Hand Cannon has been rereleased in Destiny 2 Season of the Lost, and there is a new method for how to get one. Judgment is one of the six weapons of the nine that were previously sunset, but now they've been updated to drop with the current Beyond Light perks. Additionally, this Hand Cannon is available for anyone to earn, meaning Destiny 2 free-to-play players can get their hands on it as well.

Judgment is an Adaptive Frame, 140 RPM Hand Cannon, a weapon archetype that is favorable in PvP and PvE. Its recoil pattern is hardly noticeable, and perks like Demolitionist, Adrenaline Junkie, and Timed Payload make it one of the more unique Hand Cannons in Destiny 2. Judgment takes the Kinetic weapon slot but is not one of the new Legendary Stasis weapons that have been added to Season of the Lost.

Judgment can only be acquired from the Prophecy dungeon in Destiny 2, specifically from the Phalanx Echo boss fight. This is the first boss encounter in Prophecy, and, because it takes place in such a small arena, it can be challenging to get past. Phalanx Echo is a Taken Cabal, occasionally charging his shield to blast Guardians off the side of the map. He's immune to all damage until the light and dark motes are used to expunge the respective energy on the small platforms. Taken Knights will drop the motes needed to accomplish this, and the kind of mote they drop is dependent on where Guardians are standing. Defeating the Knights while in the light has them drop light motes and vice versa, a common theme in Destiny 2's Prophecy Dungeon. Taken Psions are also present during the fight, multiplying through osmosis rapidly if they aren't defeated.

For the Phalanx Echo boss fight in Destiny 2, it's best to bring a grenade launcher with Blinding Grenades and a high damage Heavy weapon. While Phalanx Echo won't be blinded, the Knights and Psions will stop attacking when they can't see. With enough firepower, Phalanx can be defeated in one damage phase, presenting a chest that may contain Judgment. Judgment has to be earned here first, then it can be randomly acquired from one of the two secret chests in the Prophecy Dungeon.
