Dead Space Remake Stream Announced For Tomorrow | Screen Rant

Fans of Dead Space will be able to get a look at the upcoming remake thanks to a newly-announced developer stream from EA Motive. Rumors of a Dead Space revival have been rife for some time, with an official teaser trailer finally confirming the remake during EA Play Live earlier this summer. Players can expect a host of differences compared to the original 2008 release, though EA has not yet given specific details.

The Dead Space series has been dormant for a while, with no new mainline games since the release of 2013's Dead Space 3. EA's interest in reviving some of its older IPs, seen with the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, gave hope to survival horror fans, and the remake's reveal was a welcome announcement for players. The game will alter the original adventure of Isaac Clarke, with EA promising the Dead Space remake will improve on the classic story, gameplay, and characters.

While the EA Play Live teaser trailer didn't give too much away, fans of Dead Space can expect a better look at the remake thanks to an upcoming Twitch livestream. Announcing the event on Twitter, the official Dead Space account revealed that the event will give fans a "very early look at the development of Dead Space," though no further details were shared. The event will take place on the official Motive Studios Twitch channel at 10am PT/1pm ET on August 31.

While details on the Dead Space livestream are sparse, players can likely expect to see an exploration of the Motive team's approach to the remake, with the original game having been developed by the now-defunct Visceral Games. It's also possible that a full trailer or gameplay could be revealed, though it's worth noting that the Dead Space remake isn't expected to release until late 2022 at the earliest, according to journalist Jeff Grubb. If gameplay is revealed, fans can likely expect to see further changes before the game's launch date.

Hopes are high for the Dead Space remake and, if successful, it could mean remakes of Dead Space 2 and 3 could also one day become a reality. The game is targeting new-gen consoles to bring Clarke's horrifying adventure to life like never before, and it's likely that improvements in game development could make the remake even more gruesome and terrifying than the original. Fans may not yet know a lot about the new direction the remake will take, but a whole new generation of players could soon be won over by EA's modern approach to Dead Space.
