Hellraiser 6 Deleted Scene Confirmed The Fate Of Kirsty's Father

Hellraiser: Hellseeker cut out a scene that revealed the fate of Kirsty Cotton's father Larry. While the first two Hellraiser movies are considered genre greats, the subsequent eight sequels have proven to be a very mixed bag. Some fans of the series enjoy Hellraiser III: Hell On Earth or Bloodline, but the STV era kicked off by Scott Derrickson's Hellraiser: Inferno is commonly regarded with scorn. That's not to say they don't have their merits; Inferno is a stylish noir with some creepy moments while the seventh movie Deader at least has an intriguing concept.

It's hard to find many who like Hellraiser: Hellseeker, however. The story follows a man named Trevor, who has memory loss from a car crash that may or may not have killed his wife. Soon he's suffering from nightmares and hallucinations to the point where he can't tell reality from fantasy. Hellseeker tries to set up a compelling mystery, but it's a tedious thriller marred by silly jump scares and an unlikeable lead character. Its ties to the Hellraiser mythology are also slim, and it essentially has the same twist ending as Inferno.

The one major selling point for Hellraiser: Hellseeker was the return of Ashley Lawrence as Kirsty Cotton. Kirsty was the main character of the first two movies, and Hellseeker revealed what happened to her after the second movie. Sadly, Lawrence's role is minor, as she's Trevor's wife who goes missing early on and is only seen sporadically throughout. The big twist reveals that Trevor tried to get rid of Kirsty by giving her the Lament Configuration, but she opened the box and promised Pinhead five souls - Trevor and his many mistresses - in exchange for hers. Pinhead gleefully accepts, but bizarrely, the movie cut extended dialogue referring to Kirsty and Pinhead's shared past.

An extended Hellraiser: Hellseeker scene refers back to Pinhead's sacrifice to save Kirsty in Hellbound and the fates of the rest of the Cotton clan, including her father. In the second movie, Kirsty travelled to Hell in hopes of rescuing her father Larry, who was murdered by his evil brother Frank, Hellraiser's true main villain alongside Kirsty's stepmother Julia. Hellbound reveals Kirsty was tricked by Frank and her father isn't in Hell at all, but what actually happened to Larry was left ambiguous.

This Hellseeker extended scene reveals Frank, Julia and Larry are all waiting for Kirsty to arrive in Hell, one day, with Larry longing to hold his daughter again. This alternate scene would have been the highlight of Hellraiser: Hellseeker, but for some bizarre reason, it was largely cut down in the final version. It seems unfair poor Larry would be dragged to Hell despite doing nothing wrong too, but his canon fate is still in limbo.
