The first photo from the set of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin shows the lead cast together. Beginning its life on ABC Family (now Freeform) in 2010, the original Pretty Little Liars TV series adapted Sara Shephard's sensational YA novel series of the same name. The mystery-thriller show focused on a group of teenage girls as they were tormented by an enigmatic source, only known as A, who knew their deepest darkest secrets. Over the years, the show also spawned multiple spin-offs, and currently, another offshoot is in development at HBO Max.
Having received a straight-to-series order in September 2020, the new PLL spin-off, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, takes the franchise away from the central suburban town of Rosewood and introduces a new clique of teenagers who pursued by a vengeful assailant. At the moment, plot specifics for the show are slim. The series is being developed by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the creative genius behind smash-hit shows Riverdale and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
Now, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa posted a picture to Instagram, offering the first look at the cast of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sins from the reboot’s Upstate New York set. The image features the lead stars - Bailee Madison, Maia Reficco, and Chandler Kinney - as they pose for a picture together. In his post, Aguirre-Sacasa that filming for the show would begin on August 23. Take a look at the shot below:

As confirmed previously, Madison, Reficco, and Kinney will headline Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin as Imogen, Noa, and Tabby, respectively. The characters all hail from the blue-collar Pennsylvanian town of Millwood, and they'll pay for the crimes committed by their parents 20 years ago, as well as their own. Madison's Imogen is described as a final girl and survivor, whereas the character description for Tabby suggests that she's an inspiring director who is fond of horror movies. Reficco's Noa, meanwhile, is a struggling sarcastic track star who is trying to get her life back on track after spending a summer in juvenile custody. At the moment, it's not clear if the new liars will cross paths with the old ones, but Aguirre-Sacasa has confirmed that the show is set in the same universe as the original series.
Aguirre-Sacasa's post doesn't offer any new information about Pretty Little Liars: Original Sins. So far, Madison, Refico, and Kinney are the only stars who have been confirmed for the reboot, but fans can now be on the lookout for more casting news, as the show wouldn't possibly commence production with just three actors. That said, fans should gear up for a riveting ride full of twists, turns, and secrets, as the new little liars are officially here and ready to roll.
