Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon Casts Brendan Fraser

Brendan Fraser has been cast in Martin Scorsese's upcoming film, Killers of the Flower Moon. Scorsese has dabbled in various film genres throughout his more than 50-year long career, though he is most renowned for his crime films. After the success of his crime family epic The Irishman, which was largely seen as a return to form for the director, Scorsese will once again step out of his comfort zone by directing his first western with the adaptation of David Grann's novel, Killers of the Flower MoonThe movie began filming in April of this year and has yet to secure a release date.

Earlier today, Deadline announced that Brendan Fraser had signed on to join the cast of Scorsese's film. Fraser "will play lawyer WS Hamilton" opposite his star-studded ensemble that includes Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Jesse Plemons. Little else is known about Fraser's role at this time.

After his success with The Mummy films in the early 2000s, Fraser was a relatively hot name in Hollywood until he seemingly fell off the map in the 2010s. However, in the past few years, a small but vocal community of Brendan Fraser fans have championed for the star to have a career revival. While it's highly unlikely that Scorsese cast Fraser in response to these fans, it's nonetheless exciting to see Fraser in such a high-profile role. Hopefully Killers of the Flower Moon will serve as a second wind for Fraser's career after so many years away from the limelight.
