To commemorate his 10th anniversary as a hero, Miles Morales is getting a new Spider-Man suit in Miles Morales: Spider-Man #30. He has become a fan-favorite Spider-Man and his suit is highly recognizable, even amongst a slew of web-slingers. Miles has largely kept the same suit with a few specialty ones added to his closet here and there, but now he has another new one, and it rocks.
Miles Morales debuted in 2011, in the pages of Ultimate Fallout #4. He has since made his big screen debut, with his origin story being told in the critically acclaimed film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). He is also the protagonist in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales video game released in 2020.
Now, Miles is celebrating ten years of heroism by wearing a brand new suit. His black and red suit is amazing and unique when it comes to wall-crawlers. His new one keeps his traditional color scheme, but it also speaks to his individual style. This suit will debut in Miles Morales: Spider-Man #30, which releases this September. This issue has the creative team of Saladin Ahmed and Carmen Nunez Carnero. The cover below featuring the new suit was created by Taurin Clarke, while Miles' suit itself was designed by Chase Conley. As an anniversary special, this issue will also involve other comic creators.
Since his appearance in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Miles Morales has been synonymous with street style hero wear. Where Peter Parker has maintained the traditional hero bodysuit, Miles has taken the same concept and paired it with more comfy, casual garments. He began the movie in a suit like Peter's, as a fan, but when he finally takes on the identity for himself, he truly makes it his own. He keeps his standard clothes on over his suit, pulling his mask on under his hood, while wearing a pair of Air Jordans. Eventually Miles simplifies it down to his signature black and red suit, but the casual look has already become synonymous with the character. Now, that style is reflecting very clearly in his new suit.
The 10th anniversary suit looks like something Miles would wear to the gym. He has sweat pants and a long-sleeved, baggy pullover that connects straight to his gloves. This time, his attire is predominantly red, changing up the color ratio he usually has, since his standard suit is black with red accents. His pants have an awesome side strip that brings in the thin red webbing motif he usually wears on his chest. Once more Miles has a sleek pair of kicks. His mask has also changed to a solid black with red eyes instead of white with red trim. The web detailing is not included with this mask, nor is it on his chest, which has a smaller spider icon than normal. This suit is a major departure from the usual, but it definitely reads as being 100% Miles.
