Below Deck Med: What Happened To Bobby Giancola From Seasons 1 & 2

Bobby Giancola appeared on the first two seasons of Below Deck Mediterranean. He, along with Hannah Ferrier, was one of the few members who got to work with both Captain Mark and Captain Sandy during the series. During Bobby's time on the show, he fell for several female crew members. In his first season, he had the biggest crush on the second stew, Julia d' Albert Pusey. However, she was in a relationship at the time, and Bobby's attempts to woo her did not work.

During the following season, Bobby tried to grab the attention of his fellow deckhand Malia White, but she was already entangled in a love triangle of her own. While Bobby had no luck finding love onboard with a crew member, he did kiss one of the charter guests while out on a jetski in one episode. Since then, Bobby has moved on from his days as a deckhand and has moved up in the ranks.

Since he departed Sirocco in Croatia, Bobby continued to work in the yachting industry, but as a licensed yacht broker. According to the Dension Yacht Sale website, the former deckhand began working with a yacht management company where he learned about surveys and yacht sales. From there, Bobby gained valuable experience, an eye for detail, and a love for helping people. With the skills he has gained, Bobby wanted to help people have an easy and enjoyable experience when looking for their perfect boat. He now works in Florida full-time, selling a number of luxurious yachts. Bobby recently sold a 2014 Azimut 84 “Phoenix” for more than $2.8 million (via Bobby Giancola/Instagram).

It seems Bobby made the right career decision in moving on from working as a deckhand to working as a broker. According to Showbiz Cheat Sheet, deckhands only make approximately $55,000 per year, plus tips. Yacht brokers, on the other hand, make on average around $121,000 per year. The commission is what's most important to yacht brokers, much like how tips are to yachties. Brokers typically earn about 10% of the price of the yacht they sell, but percentages do vary. Other than Bobby continuing to hustle in the yachting industry, he has also made friends with fellow Below Deck franchise alums. He recently shared an Instagram photo of himself hanging out with Kate Chastain and Kelley Johnson from Below Deck and Colin Macy-O'Toole from Below Deck Med.

After departing Croatia in 2016, Bobby has moved on from his days as a deckhand on Below Deck Med. While he still keeps in touch with many alums, Bobby has no intention of ever returning as a cast member. Now that he is a yacht broker, maybe he will return as a guest one day.
