Captain Sandy hinted at a possible feud between her and fellow Below Deck's Captain Lee. The two captains have very different leadership styles and have often commented on what they would have done if in the other's shoes. Captain Sandy has been called a micromanager by fans, who likes to know everything going on on the boat. Captain Lee on the other hand takes a much more hands-off approach to his leadership role, and only wants to be notified of an issue if he is the only one who can solve it. Both styles have their positives and negatives, but in the end, they are both trying to give the charter guests the best experience possible.
An instance in which Sandy got a lot of criticism for was when she fired Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier last season. Hannah was fired for having Valium on board without having registered it with the captain first. Many were not happy with the way this was handled, but Captain Sandy says she was just following Maritime Law. An example of when Captain Lee was forced to get involved with charter guests was last season when a drunk guest, Dolores, dove off the boat at nighttime after being told multiple times she was not allowed. He ended up kicking her off the yacht, and she couldn't participate in the rest of the charter.
Captain Sandy is sparking rumors of a feud between her and Captain Lee, after some comments she made on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live. During the appearance, Sandy was asked how she would have handled the situation with Dolores. Sandy said she never would have spoken to a guest the way Captain Lee spoke to Dolores. She further stated, if Dolores didn't listen to her initial pleas to get out of the water, she would have sent in a member of the crew to ensure the guest had fun safely. She finished her statement by claiming people jump in the water all the time and that's just the nature of yachting.
Fans were quick to catch on to the shade Sandy was throwing Lee's way and were not too happy about it. They think Sandy is still upset over Lee's remarks over how she handled Hannah's firing and is trying to get him back. One fan in particular said Sandy is upset because Lee said Hannah having the Valium on board was not a fireable offense. At the time, Captain Lee also seemingly mocked the excuse of maritime law being violated, claiming he never wanted to hear that word again. She felt like he didn't have her back when she was already getting so much criticism online.
Will the stud of the sea clap back at Captain Sandy, or will he take the high road? Will he be back at the helm of another season of Below Deck anytime soon? Coronavirus affected the filming of the popular show more than any other, with travel restrictions making it almost impossible to film. Season eight of the hit show was cut short because of the pandemic, and it is still unclear when filming will begin again. If the show is to start filming soon, it will be interesting to see which crew members from season eight return, if any. Will there be another new chief stew this year?
