Animal Crossing Wizard Of Oz Build Includes Emerald City & Yellow Brick Road

A in-game build of The Wizard of Oz in Animal Crossing: New Horizons manages to impress with its recreation of Emerald City and the iconic Yellow Brick Road. Since the game's launch in Spring 2020, Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans have gone above and beyond in terms of in-game creations.

A fan-made build from earlier this month turned villager houses into Pokémon Gyms, perfectly marrying the two beloved franchises. Pokémon Colosseum's Phenac City also took the spotlight recently thanks to an Animal Crossing design. And who can forget that even WandaVision's "Agatha All Along" played a part in a viral New Horizons video a few months ago? In short, ACHN fans are incredibly clever when it comes to reimagining pop culture touchstones within the confines of the Nintendo Switch exclusive. The latest of such creations pays homage to a time-honored classic.

The Animal Crossing subreddit recently received a bit of cheer thanks to user asuna86 uploading their Wizard of Oz-inspired ACNH build. As expected of a Wizard of Oz homage, staples such as Dorothy, Toto, and the Yellow Brick Road sit front and center in the charming recreation. Emerald City gets some love, too, in a brief section near the end of the clip, which the player accesses by sliding into a green pipe at the end of the Yellow Brick Road. It's all very imaginative and quite charming. Get a good look at the fan-made Animal Crossing and Wizard of Oz crossover in the following video:

The attention to detail is nothing short of astounding, proving, like many other builds, that Animal Crossing: New Horizons' baked-in tools are pretty robust. And the mechanics and designs on display in The Wizard of Oz creation above serve as just the tip of the iceberg in many respects.

It's been a disappointing week for fans of the best-selling Nintendo Switch title, most notably due to ACNH's absence during the Nintendo E3 press event. Players were hoping to receive news about future updates and content drops; however, no such information has surfaced, as of writing. Yet, it's clear that fans will continue to make their own fun, even if Nintendo doesn't supply them with fresh tools.
