Jersey Shore: Mike Threatens to Sue After Media Mistakes Him For Ronnie

Jersey Shore star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is threatening to sue a media outlet after they mistook him for Ronnie Ortiz Magro. The article in which they used Mike's photo rather than Ronnie's was regarding Ronnie's recent arrest. After fans pointed it out on Twitter, Mike asked for the link to the article before later threatening to sue.

Ronnie was arrested on Thursday in Los Angeles, California, where he currently resides. He was taken into custody on accounts of domestic violence allegations. At the time of his arrest, Ronnie was still on probation for his last altercation with ex Jenn Harley in 2019. Jenn's current boyfriend, Joe, confirmed on Instagram that Jenn was not involved in the incident. It is assumed that Ronnie's new girlfriend, Saffire Matos, was a part of the altercation; however, this has not been confirmed. Ronnie was later released on $100,000 bail the same day. Although his daughter was with him at the time of  his arrest, Jenn drove from Vegas to California to retrieve her.

Despite the entire cast remaining silent regarding Ronnie's latest arrest, Mike was left outraged when a media outlet mistook him for Ronnie. Even though they used Ronnie's name in the article, the media outlet paired it with a photo of Mike, which is assumed to be from one of his past court dates. This mistake led some to believe Mike was actually the one being arrested. A fan tweeted screenshots from the News Break article in which Ronnie's arrest is covered, including the photo of Mike used in the article. The fan wrote, "Something wrong here?" Mike, who is preparing to become a first-time father in less than a month, was furious when he saw the tweet.

Mike threatened to sue the news outlet for their major mistake after retrieving the link to the article. He quickly went on a Twitter rampage, repeatedly tweeting the news outlet. He tweeted a photo of the article, tagging News Break, and wrote, "You suck!!!" He continued on, tagging them yet again, threatening to sue. Mike wrote, "You put my picture with the wrong story idiots!!" This tweet was later deleted; however, as of this writing, the rest still remains up on his page. Being mistaken for Ronnie in a story about his arrest is not a good look for Mike, considering he is currently still on probation for his past jail sentencing for tax invasion. At this time, News Break has not apologized for their mistake nor corrected it.

Aside from calling out the mistake, Mike did not touch on Ronnie's arrest at all. None of the Jersey Shore cast members have spoken out about Ronnie's arrest. In the past, they've tended to veer away from speaking publicly on Ronnie's personal struggles. Both Ronnie and Saffire have stayed quiet on social media as well. Also, Ronnie's attorney will not make a formal statement until they have gathered more information.
