Among Us School Map Turns The Impostor Into An Evil Teacher

A new Among Us mod places the action within a school map and turns the infamous Impostor into an evil teacher. Mods have dominated this hit multiplayer game for a while now, with map, appearance, and gameplay alterations on offer that are both hilarious and sometimes quite genius. This latest attempt at reskinning the addictive Among Us gameplay loop has recreated a very common childhood fantasy.

Among Us continues its status as a cultural phenomenon following the news that a highly anticipated map change is on the way. The Airship Map is due to launch on March 31st, 2021 and it is the first map change since the 2018 indie release became a worldwide favorite in mid 2020. The game's success can be attributed both to the global pandemic and the game's extremely fun setup. Among Us is now available on several platforms, including Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. It has also enjoyed crossovers with other beloved games such as Fall Guys, and has exploded in sales. The modding community has only expanded upon the game's already robust entertainment potential.

YouTuber Socksfor1 and their group of fellow editors, programmers, and friends have shown gameplay of a hilariously fun mod that changes the venue of the game to a detailed school map where the Impostor is a teacher. The map is complete with its own unique tasks, such as running to class before the timer runs out and the school bell rings. Shenanigans ensue as the classmates struggle to escape punishment from the teacher. Content like this goes to show just how adaptable the Among Us formula is to various settings and concepts. Sockfor1 and their friends have a massive collection of videos showing off just how many ways they've adapted the beloved social deduction game.

Community-made content is not restricted to the virtual space, however. A fan-made Among Us board game featuring the classic Skeld map is in the works at GK-Games after going viral. Fans of the multiplayer game have created homages across various other games such as Animal Crossing, and there is a crossover with the popular battle royale Fall Guys in Season 4. Among Us has clearly come a long way since its initial release back in 2018.

Among Us is celebrating its third anniversary this year following a wildly successful second year. Developer InnerSloth has responded to the immense success by buckling down and going to work on the future of the beloved game. Updates that will bring quality of life features such as voice chat, as well as even more maps to follow the upcoming Airship, have been teased by the studio, but not much is known for sure about what is cooking. One thing is certain however; Among Us is not going anywhere anytime soon.
