The Bachelorette: What Happened To Becca & Garrett After Season 14

Becca Kufrin and Garrett Yrigoyen finished up The Bachelorette season 14 together, but the couple recently called off their engagement and parted ways. The fans first met Becca on The Bachelor season 22, which was led by 36-year-old Arie Luyendyk Jr. Bachelor Nation will always remember that season as having one of the craziest endings of all time. After all, Arie proposed to Becca at the finale, which means that she technically won the season. However, while the grand finale was still going, Arie changed his mind and called off their engagement. He admitted to still having very strong feelings for Lauren Burnham, who had landed in second place. Consequently, Arie ended up proposing to Lauren during the season's After the Final Rose special event.

It's pretty common for the leads on The Bachelorette to have a background story that involves some sort of a major heartbreak. After all, these women are all deserving of love despite having gotten screwed over by a guy on The Bachelor. This series is essentially their second chance at finding love on the show and taking matters into their own hands. With that said, the heartbreak that Becca experienced from that situation with Arie and Lauren is pretty unprecedented. Naturally, the fans were excited to watch Becca getting a shot at finding true love.

During The Bachelorette season 14 finale, Becca Kufrin accepted Garrett Yrigoyen's marriage proposal. This means that they've been engaged since the season aired in 2018. For some time now, the fans had been speculating what was going on between Becca and Garrett. For a while, there wasn't any confirmation that the couple had broken up... but there were also no wedding dates or plans in sight. On September 1, 2020, Becca finally broke her silence and told Bachelor Nation that her relationship with Garrett had come to an end. In the Instagram post, Becca wrote: "With a heavy heart, Garrett and I have come to the loving conclusion to end our engagement. All that we will share is that we still have nothing but love and respect for one another even though we've decided to go down our own separate paths."

In 2020, The Bachelorette star Garrett has come under fire for certain controversial posts that he shared on social media. In a few words, Garrett shared on Instagram that he would stand with the law enforcement officers as far as the Black Lives Matter movement goes. This didn't sit well with the Bachelor Nation fans that consider themselves progressive. In addition, The Bachelorette season 13 lead Rachel Lindsay spoke out against Garrett and shot down his comments.

Considering how many years they lasted after appearing on The Bachelorette, the fans really thought that Becca and Garrett would make it as a couple. However, time is always the ultimate test for all relationships.
