As of tomorrow, over 150 games will be available to stream and play on mobile devices as part of the Xbox Game Pass xCloud program. This exciting new feature for Xbox Game Pass was announced back in July, and it will allow players to enjoy Xbox Game Pass’s impressive library of titles on the go provided their phones have the required peripherals and hardware specifications.
Microsoft first teased its own cloud-based game streaming service during E3 2018, and reports of the new xCloud technology in action were revealed to the public last October. Adding to the inherent excitement of playing console-caliber games on mobile devices, in November it was announced that xCloud would also support the use of the PlayStation DualShock 4 controller. In February, Microsoft began inviting iOS users to test out the xCloud service, providing a taste as to what it will entail when in finally launches later this month.
Earlier today, Xbox.com posted the full list of launch titles for Xbox Game Pass’s xCloud mobile streaming service, including such popular titles as Middle Earth: Shadow of War, Forza Horizon 4, and the entire Halo series so far. There are over 150 games in all, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to stream any of them to their phones for no additional cost as of September 15. Even better, since Xbox player profiles are already cloud-based to begin with, players can connect over different platforms, as well as effortlessly transfer their save data from mobile to console or vice versa.

The Xbox Game Pass has enjoyed a great deal of success since its debut in 2017, thanks to its monthly additions of new games to its ever-expansive line-up and near universal acclaim that it's the best value in gaming. Aside from the xCloud launch, the service is leaving beta testing for PCs later this month, and it has been announced that Game Pass will serve as a major driving force of the upcoming Xbox Series X console went it releases on November 10. In fact, some speculate that it will be the Xbox Game Pass, not any new hardware, that will become Microsoft's primary money maker in the next generation of gaming consoles.
The Nintendo Switch has already allowed players to take their console games on the go with them, but the idea of playing major titles like Halo and Destiny 2 on one’s cell phone is certainly a thrilling concept for Xbox fans. The opening line-up for the Xbox Game Pass xCloud is a strong one indeed, with the possibility of even more top-tier games being added later on increasing the service’s appeal. Indeed, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will finally get to take their games on the go with them when xCloud launches tomorrow.
