Vanderpump Rules: Why Stassi Felt ‘Unprepared’ For First Interview Since Firing

Stassi Schroeder recently made her first TV appearance since being fired from Vanderpump Rules. The former Bravo star appeared on the Tamron Hall Show last Thursday, where she broke her silence on some of her racially insensitive actions, including why she called the cops on former cast member Faith Stowers.

Schroeder obtained celebrity status as one of the original stars on the hit spinoff show Vanderpump Rules. The show became a hit through following the ups and downs of the servers who work at Lisa Vanderpump's West Hollywood restaurant, SUR. The show just wrapped season eight when things came to a shocking end for Schroeder and Kristen Doute. The two original cast members were fired from the show after Stowers revealed during an Instagram Live chat in June that Schroeder and Doute called the cops on her for a robbery committed by another woman. Bravo terminated Schroeder and Doute quickly after Stowers' interview went viral. In addition, newcomers Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni were also fired after fans discovered their past racist tweets.

Since her exit, Schroeder has made a pregnancy announcement and gender reveal, but her interview with Tamron Hall was her first time speaking out on the incident since her firing. Though she made it through all the hard-hitting questions, the Next Level Basic author reportedly wasn't fully prepared for the interview. “Stassi felt totally unprepared for the interview," a source told US Weekly. "She wasn’t in a good mood afterward and felt like she was put on the spot." The discussion was more serious than what Schroeder's fans are used to, and this made the former podcast host a little uneasy. "She has built her brand on being candid and funny, and she feels afraid to make any wrong comments or jokes and having them come across negatively, which, in turn, made the interview awkward," the source added.

During the interview, Schroeder revealed that she hired a diversity coach following her firing to help her learn more about the history of racial inequality in America. She appeared to take accountability as Hall asked her about her past controversial remarks on her podcast and photo she once uploaded that she captioned as "Nazi Chic." She also shared the details leading up to her and Doute calling the cops on Stowers and acknowledged how "wrong" she was for thinking she was "solving a crime."

Despite Schroeder's apology, fans are still unsure about the authenticity of her remorse. While Schroeder definitely won't be returning to the Bravo network, Katie Maloney of Vanderpump Rules recently revealed that she has no idea if the show will return next season. After all the controversy surrounding the cast, it might be best to big this series adieu.
