Cyborg actor Ray Fisher asked Warner Media for a new investigator in his Justice League reshoots abuse case, accusing Warner Bros of blatant lies. Fisher, whose role as Victor Stone, aka Cyborg, was his first major movie appearance, revealed in June 2020 that he had allegedly suffered abuse on-set of the reshoots for Justice League. The actor later elaborated, accusing replacement director Joss Whedon of being verbally abusive on set during the extensive reshoots.
Fisher also accused former DC Films head John Berg, and DC's former Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns of abusive behavior. That led to Warner Bros. establishing an independent investigation into the allegations, but Fisher claims the investigation is far from independent. The actor has released several tweets, some with accompanying email evidence, saying WB hasn't been transparent in the inquiry after they accused him of not cooperating with the investigation. Jason Momoa, who starred as Aquaman alongside Fisher's Cyborg in Justice League, lent his support to the actor, saying he stands with Fisher in a social media post.
Now, there's another wrinkle in the saga, with Fisher taking to Twitter to say he's asked Warner Media to change the third-party investigator. The tweet also accuses Warner Bros (and the firm hired by them to lead the investigation)of a "lack of transparency" and "blatant lies." Fisher also publicly cautions anyone else who is being questioned in the inquiry not to speak to the current investigator. You can see the tweets below:
Fisher's latest tweets are just the latest sign that he has no faith in Warner Media's ability to provide him with a fair outcome in the investigation. The actor has consistently reacted to the investigation publically, while the studio has mainly stayed quiet. However, it is difficult to know just how much here is the undisputed truth and how much is clouded by Fisher's understandable anger over the entire situation.
Both the actor and the studio need to resolve the issue, which seems less likely with each passing day. Hopefully, though, Warner Media can appoint a new investigator in response to Fisher's request - one who can accurately determine exactly what happened during the Justice League reshoots. Only then will Fisher be able to move on with his career, and fans will be able to focus on the imminent release of the Snyder Cut on HBO Max in 2021, rather than focusing on the behind-the-scenes drama.
