Dwayne Johnson Channels Black Adam To Rip Down His Broken Front Gate

Dwayne Johnson proves he's more than ready to portray DC anti-hero Black Adam by ripping his broken front gate off its hinges with his bare hands. Johnson, one of the most bankable movie stars in Hollywood right now, will finally play Black Adam, a role he's been after for over a decade, when the movie begins shooting in early 2021. The long-awaited DC anti-hero's debut is currently slated to be released in December 2021, though that is likely to be pushed out.

The character was initially meant to appear as the villain in Shazam!, but that decision was reversed once DC realizes that Johnson was such a big star that he deserves his own movie. Johnson personally revealed a number of details about the film at DC FanDome in August, including the fact that Black Adam will introduce the Justice Society of America. The members of the JSA that were confirmed to appear alongside Johnson are Atom Smasher, Hawkman, Doctor Fate, and Cyclone. Noah Centineo has been cast as the former character, while the other three roles have yet to be filled.

Now, Johnson has taken to Instagram to post a story that proves the muscle-bound actor is more than ready to play Black Adam. Johnson posted a photo of a broken gate lying on a grass verge, explaining in the caption that it is the front gate to his house. Johnson adds that he was forced to pull it out of the wall with his bare hands after his house lost power due to severe storms. He ends by saying "I think I’m 💯 ready to be #blackadam 😄💪🏾." You can see the carnage he caused in the post below:

While Johnson is known for his muscular physique, it's pretty impressive to see what those muscles can actually do, besides look good on a movie poster. If he can do that to a wrought-iron gate, imagine what he could do to a human? Thankfully, the former wrestler is a giant of the gentle variety, so gates are the only things likely to feel his wrath. It does prove, though, that the actor, who recently resumed shooting Netflix's Red Notice with Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot didn't lay off the gym during the pandemic shutdown.

If anything, this proves he's probably stronger than ever. This means he's likely to be in his best shape ever for Black Adam, which is set to be one of DC's biggest superhero movies. It would be appropriate for the character, given that Johnson himself has compared the anti-hero's powers to that of Superman, even teasing a confrontation between the two. Whether that happens in the upcoming solo movie, or is saved for a later entry in the DC Extended Universe, it's obvious that Johnson is ready for the challenge.
