Warframe’s Heart Of Deimos Update Unlocks An Infested New World Today

Now live on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, Warframe: Heart of Deimos unlocks an entirely new world for players to sink their Warfangs into. The Nintendo Switch will also receive the update in the coming week. Cambion Drift is the newest addition to the growing Origin System, and is swarming with Infested and secrets to unfold. The release date of the new expansion was just recently announced at TennoCon 2020 in early August.

Developer Digital Extremes has already given players a look at the biggest addition coming in Heart of Deimos, showing off the new world being added to the game. It's also detailed the new Warframe, Xaku, a community-designed addition that players will have to find pieces of and reassemble throughout the new expansion. The new Warframe fights with Void-based powers that can shape the battles both in Heart of Deimos and in other battles to come.

As well as finding Xaku, players will finally encounter the lost Entrati family, getting close and personal with these sentient inhabitants of Deimos as they help players to defend the monstrous landscape. The Warframe website also explains that in the new Heart Of Deimos quest, players will follow Mother into the Infested Moon of Deimos, where mystery surrounds not only the exterior of the planet, but deep underground, too. Players can collect plants and mining resources, as well as conserve wildlife and complete bounties as they explore the game's open world. As players dig deeper into the Heart of Deimos, they will learn more about the semi-conscious Entrati researchers, fused with the Infected, who will be their guides in the Cambion Drift. Players can get to Heart of Deimos by completing the Mars Junction on their course through the Star Chart.

Heart of Deimos also introduces the Velocipod, a super fast insectoid creature that players can saddle up and ride as though it were a K-Drive (the usual vehicle of transport). Speaking of, the K-Drives have received an update, too, and the long-awaited ability to shoot while flying is here. Players can use their secondary weapons from a moving K-Drive or Velocipod, however, all weapons are stored while performing any tricks. There are even some new mods to install into the K-Drives to get the most out of those thrilling trick combos.

There is a whole new world out there for Warframe players, and Warframe: Heart of Deimos seems to have crafted a beautiful entanglement of story and environment for players to lose themselves in. It's great to see more content still being added to a game that's about seven years old, and seeing the player base expand to a point where there is now a "New Player Experience" with a cinematic opening to the game to make things easier for new players to join the battle is heartening.
