Marvel's Avengers have dropped into the universe of Fortnite. With the introduction of Marvel skins and weapons being brought to the popular game, a new partnership has blossomed. Thanks to that partnership, fans can expect new Fortnite variant comic book covers.
Marvel announced variant covers for a variety of different comics beginning in September. Artists such as Joe Quesada, Russell Dauterman, and Javier Garron are amongst the group that will deliver the crossover variants. The combining of the two universes began in the comics this past March with Thor #4, but these variant covers will be a fun way to continue the merging of the two worlds.
Combining the two uber-popular franchises has come with an outpouring of fan appreciation. The anticipation of each new offering the companies come up with is off the charts and each new installment only adds traffic for both platforms. These variant covers will likely only continue the fanfare. The exciting crossover covers feature characters from Fortnite that fans of the game will be quick to recognize, hopefully drawing them into the comics, while comic fans may be intrigued as to why there's a giant rifle-wielding banana on the cover of their favorite book.
These variants come amid the Fortnite Nexus War event. Some of the Marvel characters that will have the unique covers are: Avengers, Fantastic Four, Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man, and Captian America among a wider assortment of beloved heroes and comic books. Thor kicked things off in his comic book that ties into the world of Fortnite taking place during the Nexus War, making the Fortnite Universe and characters a part of Marvel's. The new comics and expansion of the universes colliding will surely keep the excitement alive.
