Godzilla vs. Kong toys tease the return of the Skullcrawler, alongside a new Titan. The upcoming MonsterVerse bout between kings is one of the more anticipated films coming up. Although it was scheduled for release this November, fans will be waiting six additional months for the big battle.
The MonsterVerse needs quality monsters, and it certainly hasn't disappointed in that department. 2014's Godzilla introduced the MUTOs, impressive creatures capable of emitting electromagnetic pulses. Kong: Skull Island featured different beasts, but the most notable was the terrifying Skullcrawler. The small ones were bad news for humans, and the larger one gave Kong a lot of trouble. Godzilla: King of the Monsters opened the floodgates for new Titans. Not only did it feature King Ghidorah, Mothra, and Rodan, but also original creatures like Behemoth. All eyes will be on Godzilla vs. Kong's monster roster. Sadly, it has been speculation because Legendary has not officially unveiled much about the movie. However, toy leaks might confirm major story details, such as what could be the inclusion of a mechanical Titan.
Like other MonsterVerse movies, Godzilla vs. Kong is receiving a toy line, this time from Playmates Toys. One individual handily posted packaging (via sb_toyz), revealing the return of Kong: Skull Island's Skullcrawler. Interestingly, a new Titan called Warbat is shown as well. Check out the pictures below.
Sadly, there is no packaging for Warbat yet, it seems. However, Warbat appears to be the Nozuki toy from the leak back in April. The reason for its name change is unknown. It's possible Nozuki was a planned or placeholder name but was changed later on. Assuming the character does appear in the film, having a toy could indicate a notable role.
Meanwhile, Kong: Skull Island fans will be happy to see the Skullcrawler's return. It's not known how big this one is, and if there will be lots running around if it indeed appears. Assuming the figure is scaled correctly with the vehicle, it looks like an adult. But, it could very well be a little one as well, with the vehicle just being an accessory.
Right now, it appears toys are the only Godzilla vs. Kong news available. The only clear picture of the title monsters comes from toy packaging. With the film arriving in May, it's anyone's guess when marketing will kick-off. Speculation will continue in the meantime, especially with Warbat and the Skullcrawler's return. Could Warbat be a stepping stone for one of the title creatures, or something that requires both their strength? It could also edge on the side of good, but with that design, it's hard to picture. Fans will have to wait and see for now.
