TikTok Elite Or Straight Quiz: The Easy Way To Find Out Which One You Are

Those unsure whether they are elite TikTok or straight now have the option of finding out with the help of a quiz that’s currently circulating online. While TikTok is a new platform, compared to the likes of Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, it is one where factions are already developing with elite and straight the latest example.

TikTok is designed to produce short viral content and as a result, those who get the formula right can become a big star on the platform. However, as TikTok is evolving, so is its user base. Specifically, so are the videos that are shared via the platform and it now seems as though those who favor the lesser-known side of TikTok are self-classifying as a different breed of TikTokker, compared to those who prefer the mainstream TikTok way of doing things.

Essentially, TikTok users are now groping themselves as either elite (also known as 'alt') or straight. Those who prefer more creative - some might say, weirder - videos fall into the first camp, while those that prefer the typical and traditional TikTok videos - including lip-syncing, challenges, and dance videos - are considered to be ‘straight’ TikTok. Of course, if you are not totally sure which of those camps you fall in, then an easy way to check is to take the elite vs. straight TikTok quick that’s doing the rounds online. The quiz is made up of eleven questions designed to test the user's knowledge and experience of the platform, and points are awarded for each answer. The more points you end up with, the more likely you are to be elite TikTok. To give the quiz a try, check out this Google Doc.

Whether it matters if you are elite or straight TikTok likely comes down to how invested you are in the platform to begin with. After all, that appears to be one of the defining characteristics of the difference. If you take your TikTok knowledge super seriously, get all the in-jokes, and only want cutting-edge, innovative, or non-mainstream content, then by definition you are likely to be elite. Similarly, if you take a more laid back approach to TikTok and just enjoy the content in general, then it would seem you are the definition of straight TikTok. Therefore, those that are more elite and invested in their elite status on the platform are likely to view the difference between the two camps as more important. While, again, those who just enjoy the mainstream content, will continue to just enjoy the mainstream content.

Regardless of which side, the reality is that TikTok is quickly proving to be one of the most popular social-based apps available. Its rise to the top is proving somewhat unstoppable, and this is even in the face of criticism and claims of dangerous challenges and links to China. In other words, whether you are elite or straight won’t matter half as much as the fact you are part of the seemingly unstoppable TikTok community.
