Scenarios were introduced in the latest patch of The Sims 4, introducing a new challenge mode to the sandbox game that gives players a specific goal to work toward. Two scenarios, “Making Money” and “Finding Love After a Breakup,” were added in the initial release of this patch, though more will be added in the near future, along with certain scenarios that are only available for a limited time.
In The Sims 4's main menu, there is now an option to select New Scenario, which will allow players to play through a scenario with a new or existing save. However, scenarios require that the player create a new household from scratch to play through these specific challenges. While some scenarios will have certain household requirements to begin, “Making Money” allows players to start without any restrictions.
Players can complete the “Making Money” scenario in The Sims 4 with a single Sim or a family, and there are no requirements for age, gender, or traits. However, players who want to make the scenario easier can create or choose a Sim with a Fortune Aspiration to increase the number of Simoleons they can make from a conventional job. There are also several ways that players can increase the difficulty if they’re looking to really test their Sims 4 money-making skills.
The "Making Money" scenario in The Sims 4 can be completed with whatever family size the player chooses, and they can also choose any area in the game to purchase a home or empty lot. Once the player buys a house, their Simoleons will be reduced to zero, and the challenge will begin.
Buying a larger house at the start of the scenario will make this challenge significantly easier, but players who are looking for a more difficult challenge can choose to buy an empty lot and truly start with nothing. Once the Scenario begins, players can make Simoleons by any means necessary, whether through a conventional job, creating art or content, or even stealing and cheating.
In order to complete the scenario, players must earn 1,000,000 Simoleons within the Sim’s lifetime. It’s a fairly straightforward goal with incredibly open-ended gameplay, leaving it completely up to the player to come up with an effective money-making strategy and get the Simoleons rolling in. Completing the scenario will reward the player Satisfaction Points, which can be spent in the Rewards Store to buy potions and reward traits.
The Sims 4 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
