The Bachelor: Ben Higgins & Jessica Clarke's Relationship Timeline

Ever since The Bachelor star Ben Higgins started dating Jessica Clarke, they have created a love story for the ages. Before the couple started dating, Ben had been through a relationship that he thought he'd be in forever. During his season of the ABC reality series, Ben fell for former flight attendant Lauren Bushnell, who welcomed her first child with her husband Chris Lane. Ben and Lauren had such a strong connection that even the other women on the show knew they would end up together.

By the end of his season of The Bachelor, Ben got down on one knee and proposed to Lauren. After less than two years together, however, the pair decided to call off their engagement. After that difficult breakup, Ben decided to compete in Bachelor Winter Games. Alas, he left early after realizing he didn't romantically connect with anyone there. Thankfully, The Bachelor lead still ultimately found his one true love later in life.

The couple first met in 2018 after Ben, who recently wrote a book, slid into Jessica's direct messages on Instagram. The reality star was in Nashville and wanted to see which teams were playing that night. As Ben was scrolling through the app, he came across a picture of Jessica and immediately screenshotted the photo. A few months later, he decided to reach out to her on Thanksgiving, and the couple has been talking ever since.

Ben wanted to protect his relationship with Jessica for as long as he could, so he held off on introducing his new love to his fans online. After dating for a few months, however, Ben thought it was time to go Instagram officially in February 2019. Ben, who has regrets from his season, shared a photo of him and the licensed esthetician in Honduras with his Generous Coffee company. "I've been selfishly keeping this girl to myself for too long! Hey friends meet [Jessica Clarke]," the 32-year-old wrote in the caption. "She is someone special, and I look forward to where life is going to take us. Stay tuned for the journey."

In March 2020, Ben finally decided to put a ring on it and proposed to Jessica. He proposed to his girlfriend of more than two years in Franklin, Tennessee, while quarantining with her parents amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Ben planned on proposing to Jessica in New York’s Central Park, but the pandemic forced Ben to change his plans. A few months after Ben and Jessica got engaged, the pair bought their first home together in Denver, where Ben is based.

On November 13, 2021, Ben and Jessica tied the knot in Nashville in front of their family and friends more than a year after they got engaged. The long-time couple said their "I dos" in a romantic ceremony at The Estate in Cherokee Dock outside of Nashville. Several Bachelor Nation members attended the wedding, including Nick Viall, Becca Kufrin, Thomas Jacobs, Jared Haibon, Ashley Iaconetti, and Wells Adams, who served as a groomsman.

The former The Bachelor has been through a lot in the past six years when it comes to relationships. Alas, he has finally found his perfect match in Jessica. Now that the couple is married, they can finally begin their lives together as husband and wife.
