The characters of Pretty Little Liars are used to finding themselves in highly stressful and (sometimes) life-threatening situations. For Spencer, Aria, Hanna and Emily, participating in Squid Game would be very similar to their time being tortured by 'A' in the Doll House.
The liars are used to figuring out what comes next, strategizing, and sidestepping chaos, but some of the other characters are less familiar with such stressful, intense, and potentially fatal situations. The villains of Pretty Little Liars would be in their element, in awe of the clever, sadistic masterpiece that is Squid Game. But which characters would succeed, and which would barely make it through the first round?
10 Caleb Rivers
Caleb's high level of intelligence would definitely come in handy in Squid Game, however, his most impressive skill (of being a tech genius) would be superfluous. Caleb also has a very strong sense of right and wrong, as well as a protective instinct when it comes to Hanna.
Although Caleb has the potential to go far in Squid Game, he would likely challenge the guards and refuse to play in an attempt to save Hanna from a terrible fate, but getting himself eliminated very quickly.
9 Hanna Marin
Hanna is extraordinarily brave and her experience of being tortured by 'A' would certainly serve as good training for Squid Game. However, although Hanna has moments of extreme maturity, she often acts quite juvenile and would become frustrated and defiant in Squid Game, especially after Caleb's elimination.
Hanna's habit of surpassing others' expectations (like when she gets good grades or comes up with a clever plan) could have her going far. However, it's more likely that Hanna would experience emotional turmoil after Caleb's elimination which would lead her to become brash, impatient, and frustrated during Honeycomb Shapes, cracking her honeycomb and getting herself eliminated.
8 Alison DiLaurentis
Alison is smart, strategic, and manipulative, knowing exactly how to get what she wants from others. Alison jumps between good and evil on PLL so she would likely play Squid Game in a way similar to Cho Sang-Woo. However, Alison is no stranger to making enemies and would rub other contestants up the wrong way by manipulating them.
After drawing negative attention to herself, she would likely become a target and get eliminated during the fight in the dorm by someone she had tried to trick or exploit.
7 Aria Montgomery
Aria is familiar with being tormented and playing games, which would be advantageous in Squid Game. Although fans may have forgotten, Aria showed her brutal and ruthless side when she killed Shana Fring in Pretty Little Liars. However, generally, Aria has a kind, gentle and meek disposition which is simply not suited to Squid Game.
She would make it through the first couple of rounds but would be a weak contestant (both physically and emotionally) in Tug of War, so would almost certainly get eliminated at this stage.
6 Toby Cavanaugh
Toby's background as a cop means his strength, athleticism and strategic mind would certainly see him going far in Squid Game. He is most akin to Hwang Jun-ho who infiltrates the guards (much like when Toby pretended to be on The 'A' Team), however, he would also be a strong contestant in the actual games.
As one of the most wholesome characters on Pretty Little Liars, Toby has a very strong moral compass and is a diligent, kind, and loyal friend and boyfriend. Toby simply would not choose to live over Spencer or Emily and would sacrifice himself by giving away his marbles.
5 Emily Fields
In addition to her relevant experiences of playing sadistic games, Emily's background in swimming means her high level of athleticism would no doubt have her speeding through Red Light, Green Light, and leading her team to victory in the Tug of War.
Although physically Emily would be pretty much unrivaled, she does have a tendency to panic in times of stress. Her submissive nature usually has her following others rather than making difficult decisions herself, making Glass Hopscotch particularly hard for her. She would, unfortunately, be eliminated at this stage.
4 Charlotte DiLaurentis / CeCe Drake
As one of the best villains Pretty Little Liars, as well as the longest-running, Charlotte would be right at home in Squid Game. Playing twisted games is literally her favorite thing to do and she would no doubt be a real front runner for most of the rounds. In fact, it would be no surprise if she was the Oh Il-nam of the group: the founder of Squid Game who actively chooses to partake.
Although Charlotte would probably be expected to win, her many enemies would constantly be looking for opportunities to take her out, making her particularly vulnerable to an early elimination.
3 Mona Vanderwaal
Mona is probably the smartest character in Pretty Little Liars, she seems to know everything about everything and has a level of intelligence rivaled only by Spencer. Mona's somewhat villainous nature would have her playing ruthlessly and strategically, putting on a 'dim' act all while being the one to beat.
Although Mona could almost certainly win Squid Game if she wanted, she could not pass up the opportunity to eliminate Charlotte and would most likely doom them both by tackling her in Glass Hopscotch (similar to when she pushed Charlotte from the Bell Tower in Pretty Little Liars).
2 Alex 'AD' Drake
As one of the best PLL characters introduced after season 1, and the show's most recent villain, Alex knows how to come up with and implement strategies to get what she wants. She is cunning, fearless, and unafraid to hurt others or be hurt herself (fans will remember when she asked Wren to shoot her).
No doubt, Alex would thrive in Squid Game, brutally taking down anyone who gets in her way. However, Alex's main grievance is that she always comes second to one person, and the final round of Squid Game would be no different.
1 Spencer Hastings
In true Pretty Little Liars fashion, Squid Game would come down to a battle between estranged siblings (or cousins). Spencer is one of the most intelligent characters on Pretty Little Liars and has tonnes of knowledge about all kinds of things - she would no doubt be guessing which game is next to come up, strategically picking the simplest honeycomb shape, and know how to tell the difference between the two types of glass in the hopscotch round.
Although Spencer would take no pleasure in doing harm to others, her highly competitive nature and self-preservation instincts would see her win the Squid Game.
