Vanderpump Rules: How Lala Kent Became The New Villain

Lala Kent is under fire from Vanderpump Rules fans who think she has become the show's new villain. After watching her get into three back-to-back spats on the season premiere, Lala has quickly become the most controversial returning cast member. With the show's resident villains getting axed last year, Lala has managed to rise up the ranks as the top shade thrower. But as a result, her likeability rating is starting to see a drastic decline.

Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, and Jax Taylor all getting the boot last year made room for a new villain to reign on Vanderpump Rules. Since the show's inception, Jax did a perfect job of stealing the spotlight by being the most hated cast member. Between his cheating scandals, shady behavior, and constant fighting with his friends, Jax was definitely the show's "number one guy," at least when it came to villainry. On the other hand, Stassi and Kristen were the resident mean girls who typically concocted plans that ended up in dramatic showdowns. Stassi's presence also made it easier for the ladies to get cliquey and leave someone feeling like a loner. Usually, Scheana or Kristen felt like the black sheep.

But with all three drama starters gone, the only people left who are known to engage in confrontation are Lala and Ariana Madix. However, Ariana is often advocating for the outsiders, which makes her likable. In season 9, Lala is taking care of the unfinished business she started. While she was able to get Scheana to see how poorly she handled their feud, when it came to pre-existing issues Lala had with Raquel Leviss and Ariana, Lala refused to take any responsibility. Raquel was upset with Lala for barking at her in season 8. When showing her reluctance to trust Lala playing nice at Scheana's birthday party, Lala appeared ready to rumble again. But with Raquel being the more timid person in the quarrel, Lala got the upper hand and Raquel seemingly backed down for now.

On the other hand, Ariana wasn't afraid to remind Lala that their issues stem from Lala coming for her. During a podcast appearance, Lala claimed she didn't care about Ariana and the feeling was mutual. But Ariana didn't understand why Lala would make such a bold public statement. When Ariana called her out, Lala became defensive and the two started arguing. Unlike Raquel and Scheana, Ariana didn't back down and Lala ended up leaving the party. While Lala could've easily de-escalated the argument by apologizing and taking ownership of the bad-mouthing she did against Ariana, she opted to engage in verbal warfare before making her exit. After the episode aired, Lala took to Instagram to post a throwback photo of the "Fab Four," which featured her, Katie Maloney, Stassi, and Kristen.

With the pic including two of the ousted cast members, it was a clear dig at the current cast and all the viewers who feel like Stassi and Kristen deserved to be fired for their racially insensitive actions against Faith Stowers. These are the characteristics of a mean girl – starting drama you don't want to finish and offending whoever comes in your way. A teaser for next week's episode shows Lala getting into it with Charli Burnett. Now in her second season, Charli is still branding herself and so far she hasn't been afraid to call out the veterans and stick up for herself. If Lala keeps managing to get into issues with everyone on the cast, it could be that she is the problem. Now that Jax, Stassi, and Kristen are gone, it looks like Lala has filled their shoes in becoming the new villain of Vanderpump Rules.
