Kena: Bridge of Spirits contains many chests hiding throughout the map, full of treasures to help players along on their journey. Some of these chests are cursed and require the completion of a challenge before they can be opened.
Finding and beating the challenge cursed chests require earns players rewards like gems, rot, karma, and rot hats, some of which are collectibles in Kena. These chests are scattered throughout the game’s many beautiful maps and some are harder to find than others.
There are 13 cursed chests in total. They are located in Kena’s Village, Rusu Mountain, Forgotten Forest, Fields, and Village Heart. Some locations are more inspired than others but the following is where to find them all.
Village
- To the right of the village entrance, and past a lamppost, is a house that players can go around. The chest is on the left.
- Once the spirit mail from the Forgotten Forest is delivered to the house up the stairs and the corruption is subsequently cleansed, 3 cursed chests will appear in a row.
- In the Storehouse area, players should go around the right of the stairs and past the Village Docks warp stone. After getting Adira’s mask, there will be a Cursed Chest under an awning on the left.
- After gaining the dash ability, players can go to the Mask Maker's Path. Along the main path, to the right, is the last cursed chest of the area.
Rusu Mountain
- There’s only one cursed chest in this area. Halfway up the mountain, players will come across a broken bridge. Going to the right of this bridge and up to a higher ledge will lead to this chest surrounded by a magical glowing aura just around another corner.
Forgotten Forest
- If players go left down a path from the Water Shrine warp stone, they will come to three platforms floating on the water. Players should jump onto the second and look up to the left. There is a blue stone there that can be shot with an arrow. Jumping onto the ledge will reveal the cursed chest.
- Going left from the Sacred Tree warp stone and then right onto a path that leads behind a cluster of trees will take players straight to this next chest.
Fields
- To the right of the Fields warp stone is a house with rocks blocking the door. Kena players can use a bomb to get inside where another cursed chest awaits.
- Also to the right of the Fields warp stone, is a tunnel in the rock. Around to the left is a raised house, and there's another chest just outside it.
Village Heart
- From the main path into Village Heart, through the archways, players should head to the wooden walkway up and to the right. There's a chest about halfway across.
- In the caves, players should swim through the tunnel and hop up to the left. Following this path will lead to the last chest sitting on the right.
Finding all of the cursed chests gives players a reason to check out the gorgeous scenery of Kena while also showing off different gameplay mechanics. Rumor has it that the developer is already planning their next game so fans can look forward to another great game to add to their lists.
