Many 90 Day Fiancé fans are frustrated to see that newest cast member Alina is ready to milk her reality TV fame and has already started a fundraiser. The Russian beauty recently joined the franchise, and she has yet to make a strong connection with fans. She is being featured on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3 with her American beau, Steven Johnston. Contrary to popular belief, she doesn't wish to come to the United States. She wants to resume her studies after the show and become a digital artist.
In the meantime, Alina found a brand new way of making money. She started a fundraiser and asked people to support her financially to fulfill her dream to become a professional digital artist and earn a marketing degree. The 20-year-old TV star explained that leaving her university studies behind for her hypocrite boyfriend, Steven, was challenging and uncertain. Alina wants to raise $5,000, and as of this writing, she has only brought in 2% of that amount. As Alina is new to the show and doesn't have a breakthrough number of 90 Day Fiancé supporters yet.
However, the ones she does have are now annoyed by Alina's fundraiser. A 90 Day Fiancé fan said (via @Light_Yagami2), "She can have fun livin' on tha streets (of Turkey) with her booooyfriennnnnn." Since the beginning of the season, Alina has been getting tons of positive comments on social media. But it looks like fans didn't appreciate her blatantly asking for donations, even after allegedly receiving payment to be on 90 Day Fiancé. Another fan wrote, "Anyone else find this social media panhandling disgusting?" A different fan chimed in (via @Emotional_Ad261), "Not a penny to help her stay there with that pervert. I thought she was better than that, but then I guess they all figure out the angles pretty quickly."
However, some fans want to wait and see how things turn out first. Fans shouldn't be blamed for not trusting these money-making tactics. After all, some 90 Day Fiancé stars took advantage of fans in the past. Jihoon Lee started a fundraiser to pay his attorney's fees for his divorce and child custody. Many fans wanted him to see his son; as a result, he was able to raise over $10,000. But the fundraiser was abruptly shut down, and just around that time, Jihoon was seen flaunting his new nose on social media.
Reality TV stars Alina and Steven met fans at the end of August 2021 and have appeared in just a handful of episodes so far. Alina probably should have waited to start her fundraiser. At the moment, it seems like her sole aim to be on the show was to quickly profit from her fame. Most of all, she has been enjoying a vacation in Greece, which is not doing any good for her fundraiser. 90 Day Fiancé fans aren't ready to lend Alina a hand just yet; they have advised her to get a job.
