Dean Unglert is pulling for Greg Grippo to be the next Bachelor. Greg had one of the most dramatic turnarounds in Bachelor history, starting out as a fan favorite and ending with a Bachelor Nation divided. After self-eliminating from Katie Thurston's season of The Bachelorette, some fans thought he gaslighted Katie during their breakup. She even accused him of not knowing what love is during After the Final Rose, making him a controversial choice for a season lead. While there are a lot of people who don't believe that Greg deserves to be Bachelor, some are still rooting to see him handing out the roses for a change.
Dean, on the other hand, has been in a relationship with Caelynn Miller-Keyes since their run on Bachelor in Paradise season 6. He and Caelynn both came in fourth on their respective seasons, with Dean vying for Rachel Lindsay's heart and Caelynn competing for Colton Underwood's. Being a veteran of Bachelor Nation that actually ended up in a lasting relationship puts Dean in a unique position that may cause people to put more stock into his opinion. The couple has been together for two years post-Paradise, and both Dean and Caelynn have admitted to defying the odds. Maybe Greg can defy his own odds by becoming the next Bachelor and turning around his public image.
Dean is rooting for Greg, even admitting to having a "man crush" on him. "I want it to be Greg [Grippo]. I liked Greg a lot. Greg is handsome. I know that he has his issues with the process, I guess, but I think if Greg was, like, the guy for his season, I think things maybe go a little bit differently. That’s who I’m pulling for," Dean told Us Weekly. He went on to say that he was a fan of the way Greg put falling in love over receiving roses. "It’s a complete destruction of the show in a good way," Dean said. It could be refreshing to have a Bachelor that cares more about the relationships than he does the trophies.
Caelynn also weighed in with her opinion of who the season 26 Bachelor should be. She stated that she likes Andrew Spencer, Justin Glaze and Michael Allio, who were all in the top 5 on Katie's season. Dean also agreed Andrew would make a "fantastic Bachelor," but his affinity for Greg probably has him rooting for the New Jersey native a little more. While there has been a lot of speculation around Greg and the other cast members from Katie's run, Bachelor fans have to remember Michelle Young's season has yet to air, and there will be a whole new crop of men to choose from there.
There still hasn't been an official announcement on who the next Bachelor will be, and fans have a lot of prospects to consider between both Katie and Michelle's seasons, and the current season of BIP. While Greg has fans pretty split on whether or not he's deserving of leading his own season, it wouldn't be the first time The Bachelor franchise has chosen someone controversial to take a shot at finding love. Whoever it ends up being, Bachelor Nation will be there to watch it all go down.
