The Boys Season 3 Teaser Trailer Reveals New Starlight Love Interest

A new teaser trailer for The Boys season 3 confirms the appearance of Starlight's (Erin Moriarity) ex-boyfriend from the comics. Amazon Prime Video's superhero satire show has become a huge success after only two seasons. The Boys season 3 is rapidly approaching and will continue to reinvent the comics created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. After The Boys season 2's explosive ending, fans are desperate to see what happens next for The Boys and The Seven.

Instead of making fans wait for a true trailer for The Boys season 3, Amazon has implemented a creative piece of viral marketing to provide updates on the show's universe. They are producing news segments set in The Boys universe that take place between season 2 and season 3. The first teaser explored what happened after The Boys season 2 to different characters, but it also features some teases for upcoming storylines. Amazon promised that new "Seven on 7" videos in this format would be released on the seventh day of each month in the lead-up to season 3.

Now that August 7 has come, Amazon's Vought International YouTube channel has uploaded another edition of "Seven on 7 with Cameron Coleman." The latest video is filled with teases about how the world is changing ahead of season 3. It provides updates on the lives of Starlight, The Deep, Queen Maeve, A-Train, and more. There are plenty of reveals to be found in this video, including Starlight's ex-boyfriend: Supersonic (Miles Gaston Villanueva), formerly known as Drummer Boy.

Starlight's romantic interests have mostly been with Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid) during the first two seasons of The Boys, but this teaser brings another piece of her comic backstory into the fold. Before Starlight joined The Seven, she was a co-leader of the Young Americans with Drummer Boy and the two started a romantic relationship. Starlight broke up with Drummer Boy, though, once she found him sleeping with another female member of the team. The Boys already mentioned Drummer Boy's existence in season 1, but now this teaser reveals he'll have an actual role to play in season 3 as the rebranded hero Supersonic.

After the original teaser primarily served as a recap of The Boys season 2 finale, the reveals included in this latest edition of "Seven on 7" are quite fascinating. The Deep is seemingly not backing down from the Church of the Collective, while A-Train has already returned to The Seven ahead of season 3. That isn't terribly surprising since the roster was a bit depleted by the end of season 2. With Drummer Boy/Supersonic joining The Boys season 3, perhaps he'll even find his way on The Seven roster before everything is said and done.
