New Captain America/Iron Man Cover Confirms Alex Ross is A God

Marvel has released a bold new Alex Ross cover, showcasing Captain America and Iron Man in an upcoming team-up comic book. It looks like these Avengers will have their own joint adventure, with Ross creating a powerful cover spotlighting the two formidable Marvel heroes.

Captain America/Iron Man #1 will be released November 24th, 2021. The comic, written by Derek Landy with art by Angel Unzueta, will see the two heroes pursue an elusive HYDRA agent after her escape from prison. However, the two heroes will find their quarry represents only the tip of the iceberg in a larger and far-reaching conspiracy.

The painted cover by Alex Ross is yet another superhero masterpiece. At a glance, the cover looks simple, showing a frontal shot of Captain America and Iron Man in the darkness, with a mysterious light centered behind them. However, the simplicity of the cover allows for some truly breathtaking visuals, such as the scales on Captain America's costume or the various lights of Iron Man's repulsor rays and chest piece. Iron Man's hand is even visible in the reflection of Captain America's shield. Subtle touches like this illustrate why Alex Ross is at the top of his game here.

The comic book premise has a lot of potential to challenge the two leaders of the Avengers. While Captain America is a skilled fighter and tactician, he'll clearly require Iron Man's command of technology in order to track the HYDRA agent at the source of the conflict. Of course, the two have butted heads before, more famously over the course of the Civil War storyline. While time has likely healed those wounds, there's certainly a possibility that the two heroes will come into conflict once more over the course of the story. One area of potential conflict might be Iron Man use of evasive technology that threatens civil liberties, which Captain America will almost certainly take issue with. After all, how concerned will Captain America be with Iron Man's methods during the hunt for an insidious HYDRA threat? Hopefully the two heroes can put aside their differences in the face of a larger threat.

Overall, both the cover and the premise work together to highlight what will hopefully be another superhero thrill-ride. The resurgence of HYDRA would certainly require the attention of both heroes, with the solid potential for an epic team-up between two of the most visible characters in the Marvel universe. This cover that showcases Captain America and Iron Man in ally their dynamic glory is a perfect display of the talent of Alex Ross, who can clearly showcase any comic book character in the Marvel universe with dazzling results.
