Even though Gilmore Girls has seven seasons in the original series and a reboot with four feature-length episodes, fans of Stars Hollow want more. There were plenty of things the characters spoke about on camera that fans never got the chance to see but would have loved the opportunity.
On Reddit, fans even talk about the moments that never happened in the show but they wish had. After all, Gilmore Girls is filled with so many complex characters and dramatic moments that it’s impossible to see everything on a fan’s wish list. From Mrs. Kim going on tour with Lane to a proper night out with Rory and Jess, fans are still hoping to see a variety of moments.
10 Mrs. Kim Traveling The World With Hep Alien
Fans know that Mrs. Kim was not accepting of Lane's rock 'n' roll lifestyle because it went against their family's religious beliefs. Mrs. Kim had great quotes on Gilmore Girls, but her words were often harsh on Lane. However, once Mrs. Kim saw how happy Lane was in making her band a success, she too joined in.
It was because of Mrs. Kim that the band got a tour van and had a few shows set up. But what Reddit's Emstewie14 really wanted was "Mrs. Kim [tagging] along with Brian’s parents going to gigs and supporting the band." Seeing Mrs. Kim at a rock show would have been sweet for her relationship with Lane.
9 Lorelai Walking Into Her House For The First Time
Lorelai is attached to her home in Stars Hollow for a number of reasons. It was the first home she bought and it's where she raised Rory. And while fans poke fun at some things that don't make sense about Lorelai's home, it was special for her.
Lisez6 would have loved to see Lorelai buying her home. "I picture [Lorelai] seeing house after house in her price range and all of them not being quite right and then walking into her house and everything fall into place," they told Reddit.
8 The First Meeting Of Friends
There are plenty of characters in Gilmore Girls that fans want to be friends with. From Sookie to Kirk, they're all special.
However, Mhurder1 told Reddit that they wish they saw these friends meeting for the first way back in the beginning. "I want to see Lorelai and Mrs. Kim’s first meeting," they wrote. Another fan chipped in and said, "Yes! I'd almost want to see Rory and Lane's too!" The first interactions would have been a fun comparison to their lives in the present.
7 Lorelai As A Young Mom
At times, Lorelai could be catty and jealous of her daughter, but that could be because the two practically grew up together.
And speaking of, Mysterious_Lemon9175 would have loved to see Lorelai as a young mom to a baby Rory. "I wish there were scenes from when Rory was a kid. I think [it's] hard to imagine Lorelai being a mother to a kid," they told Reddit. It would have been entertaining to see her chasing little Rory around Stars Hollow.
6 How Did Rory And Logan Reconnect After College?
At the end of the original series, Rory breaks up with Logan because she wasn't ready to be engaged and settled so young. But in the reboot, #TeamLogan fans were thrilled to see the episode where these two were still very much in touch.
But how were they still communicating? With Logan engaged and living in London, and Rory traveling in the US, how did these two reconnect? Ok_Refrigerator6028 agreed, writing, "We need more background on how they started their 'Vegas' arrangement."
5 Mrs. Kim's Reaction To Lane's Dyed Hair
After being under her mother's thumb for so long, Lane was tired of not living her truth. She wanted to express herself in every way possible. The easiest thing she could think of to live her best life was to dye her hair purple. And while it was a sweet friendship moment between Rory and Lane, Lane panicked at her purple hair. Rory had to quickly dye it back to black before Mrs. Kim saw. One Reddit user commented, "Call me a [s]adist but I would have loved to see Mrs. Kim's reaction to Lane's purple hair."
4 Lorelai And Rory Celebrating Rory's 21st Birthday In Atlantic City
Lorelai and Rory were relatable characters when they were both planning Rory's 21st birthday. It's a monumental birthday for many and the Gilmores wanted to go all out in style in Atlantic City. The two women weren't able to go on Rory's actual 21st because of a rift but they eventually went to make up for the time they lost. But sadly, fans never saw the extravaganza — maybe that's because it's hard to envision these two partying.
"I can't see either of them getting wasted, enjoying a huge, busy casino playing poker, blackjack, 21, slot machines, nor them going after 21 guys for their phone numbers," AmandaIorian told Reddit. And they have a point. Rory and Lorelai are not party girls in the slightest.
3 Why Weren't There Any Mother's Day Episodes?
Out of all the memorable episodes in Gilmore Girls, it's surprising that there's not a single Mother's Day-themed episode.
Pink_Snoo mentioned, "For how mother-daughter centered the whole show is, I would have loved a special episode where we get to see the Lorelai-Rory dynamic to the max." The show is centered around mother-daughter relationships, so it's odd that there isn't an episode dedicated to just that.
2 Sookie Deserved A Cooking Show
Snookie is an unbelievable chef who rarely creates a bad meal. Her passion and excitement for cooking only add to her credibility. She's a fun character to watch because she's one of the few who adores her job.
One Redditor agreed and thought it would be fun to Snookie in a different light. "Sookie getting her own cooking show" would have been an epic addition to her character's storyline. She would have added so much charisma to TV.
1 The Night Jess And Rory Deserved
Jess and Rory never got the ending they deserved. He ran off to California without as much as a goodbye and didn't come back into her life until a few years later. The two weren't on good terms until Jess turned his life around and wrote a book. To celebrate, Jess and Rory were planning to go out for dinner and drinks, but their night was hijacked by Logan.
Meoc55 said "I hated that Logan ruined their night. I would have liked to see Rory and Jess’s conversation at the pub (uninterrupted)." It was a needed interaction that fans never got.
