The Good Fight has officially been renewed for season 6 by Paramount+. Created by Robert King, Michelle King, and Phil Alden Robinson, the courtroom drama was a direct spin-off from former CBS hit, The Good Wife. Picking up where that show left off, The Good Fight followed the life and continued legal career of Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski). Earning critical acclaim in its own right, the show recently kicked off its fifth season.
In a new press release, Paramount+ announced that The Good Fight has already been renewed for a sixth season. "The Good Fight's provocative and whip-smart world remains as relevant as ever, continuing to entice new audiences as one of Paramount+'s top-performing original series," said Nicole Clemens, President, Paramount+ Original Scripted Series. "We are thrilled to continue The Good Fight’s enduring legacy with a sixth season and can't wait to see what the brilliant minds behind the series, Robert and Michelle King, tackle next."
With production as yet in the early stages, details were understandably scarce. The synopsis for The Good Fight season 5 reads: Diane is forced to question whether it’s appropriate for her to help run an African American law firm with Liz when the firm loses two top lawyers. Meanwhile, Marissa and the firm become entangled with Hal Wackner (Mandy Patinkin), a regular Chicagoan who decides to open his own courtroom in the back of a copy shop.
The Good Fight stars Christine Baranski as Diane Lockhart, Sarah Steele as Marissa Gold, Audra McDonald as Liz Reddick, Michael Boatman as Julius Cain, Nyambi Nyambi as Jay DiPersia, Zach Grenier as David Lee, Charmaine Bingwa as Carmen Moyo. The show also features a whole range of familiar faces, including the aforementioned Patinkin and Wanda Sykes as Allegra Durado. The Good Fight airs weekly on Thursdays, via Paramount+.
