Actor John Cena gets sweaty and dirty in a behind-the-scenes clip on the set of The Suicide Squad. While Cena has now become famous for acting, he was originally known for being a professional wrestler. He started training in 1999 and while he now focuses on his acting career that all began with The Marine in 2006, he still makes part-time appearances in the WWE.
Cena's film career has primarily focused on the genres of action and comedy. On the action side, he has starred in the likes of F9 and Bumblebee, while he has displayed his comedy chops in Blockers and Trainwreck. His newest film adds to both genres with James Gunn's DC Extended Universe (DCEU) movie The Suicide Squad, where Cena plays Christopher Smith, also known as Peacemaker. The film hits theaters and HBO Max on August 6.
In a post made by Gunn on Instagram, Cena is getting a touch-up for the film. Gunn wrote how actors are getting their sweat dabbed off of them in most cases, but not in The Suicide Squad. The cast is meant to have a dirty, sweaty look, given the humid environment of the film's setting. The behind-the-scenes video sees Cena getting his armpits dampened by a professional on set to make him look more sweaty and dirty for the character. See below for the video:

Peacemaker made his first appearance in the comics in 1966 from creator Joe Gill and artist Pat Boyette. The character was originally owned by Charlton Comics before they were acquired by DC. The character keeps true to his name, as he's willing to use force for the sole reason of keeping peace. His primary weapons are typically non-lethal, as he's against war and violence, except in the case of keeping peace. As his deadly force intensifies, he begins to believe that the souls of those who die around him are in the mask he wears and that they provide him with advice. However, Christopher isn't the only person to take on the name of Peacemaker in the DC Comics universe.
Since it's already been announced that Cena will also be playing Peacemaker in an HBO Max series, it's clear that this won't be the final time that we see him in the role. If the big smile he has on his face in the behind-the-scenes social media post from Gunn is any indication, he clearly enjoyed his time filming The Suicide Squad. As his armpits are getting sprayed, he jokes "Ah, the life." It'll be exciting to see his adaptation of Peacemaker in the film and beyond, as he seems like great casting for the part.
