Electronic Arts closed out its EA Play Live digital event with a quick Dead Space reveal, confirming that the crew from EA Motive is hard at work on a remake for the beloved sci-fi horror franchise. Dead Space-related rumors and leaks have circulated regularly for the last several weeks.
These claims pointed to Star Wars: Squadrons developer EA Motive as the team behind the brand-new Dead Space project. However, rumors vacillated between whether the game in question would take the form of a fresh sequel, a full-on reimagining, or a remaster/remake of some kind. Fans need not wonder any longer, though, thanks to a teaser trailer that emerged at the tail end of EA Play Live, a teaser that EA quickly followed up with a bit more insight.
The trailer in question only lasts a few short seconds, yet it certainly pleased many a viewer. Dead Space's familiar sights and sounds pervade much of the brief teaser, fully immersing fans in the horror before revealing a sneak peek at the back of Isaac's iconic suit. A press release on Electronic Arts' official website offered additional information, confirming that EA Motive does indeed have a Dead Space remake in the works. Players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S can expect to experience an "improved story," complete with enhanced audio, visuals, and controls - all made possible by Frostbite Engine. Specific release date details presently remain under wraps.
