A script from The Boys season 2 is now available to read online for free. The Amazon Prime original hit series is based off the comics of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The Boys is a satirical look at the dark side of superheroes, where there's no clear delineation between who is truly good or bad. Season 3 is currently filming.
Ratings for The Boys season 2 rivaled that of Netflix's highest rated shows. Season 2 built on the momentum that the first season set up, where the vigilante group the Boys, led by Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), attempted to bring down Vought International by revealing to the world that the company was manufacturing superheroes with compound V. In season 2, episode 6, "The Bloody Doors Off," Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara), Mother's Milk (Laz Alonso), and Frenchie (Tomer Capon) find an unlikely ally in Lamplighter (Shawn Ashmore) at the Sage Grove Center, where the unlikely team discovers another one of Vought's secret plans.
The script for that episode of The Boys season 2 is now available to read online via Deadline. The action packed episode featured major reveals, the hilarious introduction of Love Sausage, Hughie nearly dying, Lamplighter's backstory, and more. Check out the entire script, which was written by Anslem Richardson, below.

In usual fashion for The Boys, "The Bloody Doors Off" features plenty of violence from beginning to end. It's definitely interesting to read the script with the extra notes and details that add more context to the character's actions. There are many reasons why "The Bloody Doors Off" was an important episode, including the reveal that Lamplighter never meant to kill Grace Mallory's (Laila Robins) children. Lamplighter's confession leads to closure that Frenchie so desperately needed.
Frenchie's failure to save Mallory's kids had haunted him since season 1. After Lamplighter admits he was actually trying to kill Mallory in that moment, the script describes a newfound understanding between Frenchie and Lamplighter: "Brought together again by fate. Both men silently wrestling with thoughts of guilt and regret. Until an expression on Lamplighter's face. F*** it." Lamplighter tells the Boys that the patients of Sage Grove are being experimented on by Vought in order to figure out how to stabilize Compound V for adults. Even the stage directions say to milk that moment because it was a huge reveal.
The script is a great reminder that "The Bloody Doors Off" was a pivotal episode for The Boys season 2. How season 3 will continue to build on that is still up in the air at this point. Showrunner Eric Kripke has said that The Boys season 3 has the craziest footage he's ever seen. While there's no official release date for the new episodes, considering how wild The Boys has been in the past, it's likely the premiere will be worth the wait.
