Pokémon Go: How To Prepare For The Solstice Event | Screen Rant

The Solstice Event is currently happening in Pokemon Go. This guide will show players how they can prepare for this event. June is here which means it's time for the ultimate Summer kickoff. Pokemon Go will be hosting weekly events, each focusing on new Pokemon and features Niantic plans to introduce to the game. July alone marks the return of Go Fest, a big music festival where players will be able to capture exclusive Pokemon and uncover Meloetta, a legendary Pokemon of the Unova region. Until then, Pokemon Go is hosting a Solstice event that comes along with a bunch of regional exclusive Pokemon. This guide will show players how they can best prepare for this event.

The Solstice Event is running from Thursday, June 17th to Sunday, June 20th. During this time period, Pokemon from the northern and the southern hemispheres will be swapped. Normally, players would need to travel to the other side of the world to capture these Pokemon. While not every regional Pokemon is a part of this event, a small handful of them is pretty difficult to track down under normal circumstances. This is the best way to fill up these missing gaps in your Pokedex. Here is how players can prepare for this event.

Here is everything players should know to prepare for this event.

  • Global Spawns: Players will be able to find Lunatone, Solrock, Spheal, and Snorlax out in the wild.
  • Global Raids: Lunatone, Solrock, and Klink will appear in raid battles across the globe.
  • Northern Hemisphere: Yanma, Chimchar, and Summer form Deerling will begin to spawn for players in the northern hemisphere. Shiny Yanma has an increased spawn rate as well.
  • Southern Hemisphere: Snorunt, Snover, and Winter Deerling will begin to spawn for players in the southern hemisphere. Shiny Snorunt has an increased spawn rate.
  • Northern Raids: Alolan Marowak, Yanma, and Petilil will appear in raid battles.
  • Southern Raids: Lapras, Piloswine, and Snorunt will appear in raid battles.

The best way to go about finding these potential Shiny Pokemon is by completing the Field Research Tasks. All of the Pokemon involved have their Shiny forms in the game. Not only that, but regardless of hemisphere, Regigigas is appearing in 5-star raid battles. This is the best chance players have to find its Shiny form as well. Make sure to not miss out on this event and do everything to fill up that Pokedex.
