Mass Effect's Liara Gets Limited Edition Statue, Pre-Orders Available

The long-awaited Mass Effect Legendary Edition has been out for quite some time, and fans can now celebrate with a limited-edition statue of resident Asari scientist and squadmate Liara T'Soni. Toys and collectibles based on video games are nothing new, with characters from titles like Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales getting the high-end replica treatment over the past few days.

This rings especially true for Mass Effect, as Bioware’s long-running sci-fi RPG franchise has been generating figures, Funko Pops, and other fun merchandise as far back as 2010’s Mass Effect 2. Meanwhile, fans have been jumping back into the saga of Commander Shepard with the recently released Legendary Edition, a remastered collection of the first three Mass Effect titles that has not only faithfully captured everything players loved about the original trilogy, but improved aspects that haven’t aged as gracefully, like the Mako rover’s infamously rough handling in the first game.

To commemorate Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Bioware is releasing a limited-edition statue of Liara on its official online store. This figurine is available in both fully painted and prototype grey versions, but only 2,000 units will be produced, as stated on the Bioware Gear Store Twitter account. Pre-orders are now available on the site, and both versions of the Liara statue will cost $95.

Mass Effect fans will fondly remember Liara T'Soni as an optimistic researcher and squadmate of Commander Shepard, as well as a possible love interest for either version of the fully customizable hero. First introduced on the planet Therum during the events of the original Mass Effect, Liara’s knowledge of the ancient race known as the Protheans proves invaluable in the battle to save the Milky Way galaxy from the threat of the dreaded Reapers. In later installments, she even strikes out on her own as the underground information dealer known as the Shadow Broker, and she is currently set to return in Bioware’s upcoming but still untitled Mass Effect 4.

Liara T’Soni is a very popular character in the Mass Effect series, and Bioware’s limited-edition statue captures the Asari teammate’s courage, beauty, and Biotic power nicely. Fans will have to act quickly if they wish to pick up this collector’s item though, as supplies will likely run out quickly. Everyone else can relive Liara’s adventures in Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which is now available across all major platforms.
