Anya Taylor-Joy and Ralph Fiennes have joined the cast of Searchlight's upcoming horror film The Menu. Taylor-Joy is an actress on the rise whose projects include The New Mutants, Split, Glass, and The Witch. Most recently, she stunned viewers with her award-winning performance as Beth Harmon in the Netflix series The Queen's Gambit. Meanwhile, Fiennes is known for portraying Voldemort in the Harry Potter films, as well as his impressive work in Schindler's List. The coveted actor will also appear in the next James Bond film, No Time to Die, and in the Kingsman prequel The King's Man.
As reported by Deadline, Taylor-Joy and Fiennes will share the screen in Searchlight Pictures' The Menu. Taylor-Joy is purportedly in the negotiations stage, while Fiennes has just closed a deal to appear in the film. Mark Mylod, director of HBO's Succession, will helm The Menu, with Adam McKay producing.
Sparse details have been released about the film thus far, but it will fall within the genres of horror and dark comedy. The plot will follow a young couple as they journey to an isolated island to dine at an exclusive restaurant. The restaurant is headed by an acclaimed chef who treats the couple to a lavish tasting experience, with some surprises thrown in along the way. Taylor-Joy will portray one half of the couple and Fiennes will take on the chef. The Menu is certainly gaining traction landing two big names like Taylor-Joy and Fiennes. It will be exciting to see these two critically acclaimed actors sharing the screen in a horror film. Hopefully, they help to make The Menu a success.
