Villains Bring Mayhem In Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two Trailer

Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two has received a trailer teasing mayhem from some of the Caped Crusader's greatest adversaries. The animated adaption of the critically acclaimed Batman story was announced in 2020. Last week, DC released some images from the film showing Jim Gordon, Catwoman, and more.

Batman: The Long Halloween is following a strong lineup of DC animated films. After the destruction of Darkseid in Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, a fresh new era began with Superman: Man of Tomorrow. With a new art style and compelling origin for the Man of Steel, the film seemed to herald a promising new array of future movies. Following Superman's outing, DC released Batman: Soul of the Dragon back in January. This standalone feature is set in the 1970s and received positive reviews. The most recent DC animated adventure is Justice Society: World War II, which released last month. It is the first film based on the Justice Society team, and features Wonder Woman leading a team of heroes against the Nazis in the opening act. Next up, Batman is returning with a two-part adaption of The Long Halloween. Part One is releasing in June.

DC (via IGN) has released the trailer for Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two. The footage reveals more characters from the comic book, including Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, and the Mad Hatter. Check out the trailer below:

One of the most notable aspects of The Long Halloween comic was detailing Harvey Dent's descent into Two-Face. Unsurprisingly, it appears Dent will become the iconic villain in Part Two of the animated adaption. With more of the strong animation style from recent films, and great character roster, Batman: The Long Halloween looks to be a compelling film. Part Two does not have a release date yet. Interestingly, there are no more DC animated movies confirmed for after. It's likely just a matter of time before an announcement. Justice Society: World War II plants the seeds for the Justice League to form.

It will be great seeing what's next in DC's animated lineup. Sadly, there's no word on when any announcements will come. DC FanDome is returning this October, so perhaps there will be some news there. In addition to any standalone films, it will be interesting seeing if there are any adaptions coming up. With Batman: The Long Halloween, many of the most iconic Batman storylines have been adapted. However, stories such as Knightfall and The Man Who Laughs have not been adapted in animated format yet. Past Batman, a Superman story certainly worthy of an adaption is Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?. No matter what, there should be something to look forward to.
