Star of Jersey Shore Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi allegedly went off on comedian Nikki Glaser at the taping of MTV's Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted. Nikki was hosting the show went she poked fun at the Jersey Shore cast, leaving Nicole outraged. Nicole ultimately lashed out at Nikki, resulting in an aggressive exchange of words between the two. The unscripted portion of the awards ceremony, featuring the Jersey Shore cast, was filmed late last week.
Despite taking some time away from filming, Nicole is still one of the original and fan-favorite roommates from the show. Earlier this month, it was announced Nicole will be returning to the spin-off series during the upcoming season. However, it is unknown if her return will be permanent or just a cameo appearance. Although she was not part of the last season of the show, Nicole still takes pride in the success of the series.
Nicole, along with her co-stars, Jenni "JWoww" Farley, Angelina Pivarnick and Vinny Guadagnino, all flew out to Los Angeles, California last week to attend the filming of MTV's Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted on Thursday, May 13. During the taping, Nicole allegedly got into an argument with Nikki, who was hosting the event. An eyewitness told Us Weekly the two went at it after Nikki poked fun at Nicole and her co-stars. According to the eyewitness, "Nikki made a joke about the Jersey Shore cast and said something like, ‘I’m surprised you guys are still alive.'" Nicole, who was sitting in the audience, did not appreciate being the butt of Nikki's joke, nor did she think it was funny. The mom of three retaliated from her seat. The witness continued to say, "They were going at it for real."
It is unknown if the falling out between the two ladies will be cut out of the awards show. Fans will have to tune into the second night of MTV's Movie & TV Awards tonight, May 17, to find out. This is the first time MTV has split the award show in half to focus on the network's unscripted content. During the special, the Jersey Shore cast will be awarded the "first-ever Reality Royalty Lifetime Achievement Award." In a press release for the award show, it states, "The ‘Reality Royalty’ recognizes the legacy of reality greatness." The press release continued on, "Over the past 12 years, the cast of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation has continuously brought the laughs, creating some of the most memorable reality TV show moments of all time."
Considering the original series of Jersey Shore was a pop culture phenomenon, it is no surprise the cast is receiving this well-deserved award. The show is also nominated for two other awards, including Best Docu-Reality Show and Best Reality Cast. Nicole will be making her return to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation in less than one month when the new season premieres on "jerzday" June 3, 2021. She, along with some of her fellow roomies, will also be seen tonight during the award show, airing on MTV at 9pm, which will (hopefully) show what truly took place between her and Nikki during the show's monologue.
