Big Brother: 10 Rivalries We'll Never Get Over | ScreenRant

Verbal sparring is par the course on Big Brother, whether it's a fight in the heat of a moment, because of a backdoor move, or even just a misunderstanding that has nothing to do with the game. But rivalries run even deeper.

In the Big Brother house, there have been plenty of rivalries between people who despise one another on a completely different level. It's one thing to be in opposing alliances, or not share anything in common with another houseguest, but a completely different thing when the anger runs deep.

When it comes to a few pairs of people throughout Big Brother history, situations have escalated to extreme heights, testing the limits of what the show might allow and keeping producers on edge.

10 Ragan And Rachel (Season 12)

These two were like oil and water and were responsible for one of the biggest rivalries on the show. They despised one another so much that they couldn't even be in the same room. When they were, insults and snarky comments flew.

Ragan said Rachel was fake and annoying while Rachel seemed to dislike Ragan mainly as a by-product of his disliking her. The rivalry reached its peak when, after being evicted, Rachel was released back into the house for 24 hours as a Pandora's Box twist. She used the day to taunt and antagonize Ragan, even baking cookies and offering him some when she knew he was a Have-Not and could not eat any.

9 Rockstar And Brett (Season 20)

Under any other circumstance, Rockstar and Brett might never have met, and most certainly would not have gotten along. They were from two very different worlds. But it went beyond just being different people — these two had a deep-seated dislike for one another.

The most notable fight between them, which took their rivalry to another level, happened when Brett — one of the least likable houseguests from the show — lied about working with Rockstar in an effort to protect his alliance. When she found out, on the day of her daughter's birthday no less, she let him have it.

8 Cody And Paul (Season 18)

This rivalry stemmed mainly from gameplay. Paul blatantly manipulated people, and somehow, they followed him. Cody saw right through his act, or "character," as he called it, and publicly called Paul out. Once all the cards were on the table, these two became bitter rivals in the game.

Cody didn't like how Paul was playing and Paul thought Cody was too emotional and hot-headed. Paul made it to the end but Cody got the last laugh by voting for Josh, someone else he didn't get along with in the house, to win over Paul, leading to Paul's second runner-up finish.

7 Jerry And Renny (Season 10)

Two of the oldest cast members to play the game (Jerry being the oldest ever at 75) many thought the two would align with one another simply because they both came from previous generations compared to most of the other 20- and 30-something houseguests. But what happened was the total opposite.

They were constantly at one another's throats, thanks to their very different personalities and lifestyles. While Renny, a beauty salon owner, was energetic and bubbly, Jerry, who was retired from the Marine Corps, was far more conservative and came across as temperamental compared to Renny's more laid-back attitude. In the end, their values were too different.

6 Keesha And April (Season 10)

Season 10 was a pretty heated one, and many of the disagreements and rivalries came to a head on one specific day: Keesha's birthday. Not only was everyone around her fighting, but Keesha ended up in the middle of a fight, too.

The fight started with April's passive-aggressive comments and Keesha's outburst of anger. But it turned into an all-out rivalry that saw the house divided with everyone supporting one woman or the other for the rest of the game.

5 Amanda And Elissa (Season 15)

What was particularly puzzling about their rivalry was the fact that it seemed to stem solely from not liking one another and had nothing to do with gameplay. It was a clash much like Keesha and April, where Amanda wasn't shy when it came to speaking her mind while Elissa took the more passive-aggressive route. Her non-reactions only riled Amanda up even more. They initially complemented one another, but eventually, they began to clash.

It got so bad, in fact, that Amanda was called a bully after she did things like scream and shout about how she wanted to make Elissa's life miserable every day while she was in the house.

4 Rachel And Britney (Season 12)

What made this rivalry so tough to get over is that it was sort of one-sided. Rachel didn't even know she was in a rivalry because Britney put on a smiling face in front of Rachel then talked about her behind her back. More so, Britney mocked Rachel in her Diary Room sessions, which were among the most entertaining of any season.

There was that memorable scene when Britney put on Rachel's extensions to make fun of her, only to get caught when Rachel walked into the room. Not realizing what was going on, Rachel had a good laugh thinking they were all having fun. The rivalry continued on to The Amazing Race where they became one of many former Big Brother players to appear on that reality competition series as well.

3 Evel Dick And Jen (Season 8)

Their rivalry may easily go down as the most memorable in the entire series. Evel Dick and Jen despised one another so much that they could do nothing but insult one another and say hurtful words under their breath.

But it escalated when Jen destroyed Evel Dick's cigarettes, then decided to eat a turkey burger when she was a Have-Not, which resulted in earning her a penalty from producers for breaking the rules. Evel Dick — one of the biggest villains in the series' history — then taunted Jen right back by blowing smoke in her face. She tried to grab the cigarette from him and burned herself in the process.

2 GinaMarie And Amanda (Season 15)

Amanda had issues with a lot of people in the house, especially after she went from most popular to most despised seemingly overnight. But when GinaMarie began to insult Amanda for no apparent reason, presumably out of boredom, things got heated and a rivalry began.

The two proceeded to spew insult after insult at each other. But what was most hilarious was that everyone in the house just sat around, minding their own business, while Amanda wiped the kitchen counter and GinaMarie played Jenga by herself.

1 Janelle And Nicole (Season 22)

In the latest All-Star season, Janelle and Nicole were at odds before they even started the game. They already knew each other from previous seasons and life outside of the house. But the controversy surrounding Nicole's casting on the All-Star season and rumors about what happened behind the scenes put a bad taste in Janelle's mouth.

Janelle was against Nicole from the get-go, after which Nicole became equally sour on Janelle — so much so that Nicole used her goodbye speech to Janelle after her record-breaking 13th nomination for eviction to basically disinvite her from her upcoming wedding.
