Disney: 5 Worlds That Would Be A Dream To Live In (& 4 That Would Be A Total Nightmare)

How many Disney fans have ever thought to themselves how wonderful it would be to live in a magical world like an enchanted kingdom, deep under the ocean, or in a galaxy far, far, away. That's all fine and dandy, but many viewers forget to take the bigger picture into account.

For every benevolent princess, there's a wicked stepmother. For every flying pixie, a cutthroat pirate. Living in these realms wouldn't be without consequences. Not all of them are paradises, and yet not all of them are dangerous. Even so, Disney has a fair share of wonderful and wild worlds.

9 Dream: Neverland

Second star to the right and straight on till morning, the world of Peter Pan and the Lost Boys has always been a fairytale delight since the days of J.M. Barrie's original play. Although Disney takes a few family-friendly liberties, the only real threat would be Captain Hook and his bumbling pirates.

With that in mind, a world where people don't age, there's plenty of food and fresh water, fairies, mermaids, and adventures to be had certainly sounds like a magical island paradise by definition.

8 Nightmare: Tarzan’s Jungle

In the brutalist of honesties, the only reason Tarzan survived as long in the jungle as he did was that he had a whole clan of gorillas looking out for him. If it weren't for his intervention, Jane and the Professor would have wound up as leopard chow sooner or later.

It's all about who one knows in this treacherous slice of Africa. There isn't exactly a pride of lions out there singing Hakuna Matata.

7 Dream: Duckburg

Life is like a hurricane here in Duckburg, but when the city plays host to the likes of Scrooge McDuck, Launchpad McQuack, and even Darkwing Duck on occasion, things don't get stale often. Honestly, there are few that capture the Saturday morning cartoon feeling better than this place.

Fun is the name of the game in Duckburg, and there's an enjoyable yet controlled zaniness to the Ducktales universe that simply can't be denied.

6 Nightmare: Atlantica

To quote that wise and witty philosopher Qui-Gon Jinn, "There's always a bigger fish." The Merfolk of Atlantica might be under the protection of King Trident's reign, but there are still worse things than sea witches out there in the ocean.

Ariel even has to outswim a hungry shark in the first act of the movie, what's to stop other deep-sea predators from doing what nature built them to do? What happened to "we've got no troubles, life is the bubbles"?

5 Dream: Sanfransokyo

It was a toss-up between Zootopia or Sanfransokyo, but where Zootopia might have cute animal characters living in beautiful biomes, it also lacks technological advancements, blending of modern and futuristic styles, and of course, a team of superheroes and a giant robot.

It's certainly one of the most beautiful cities ever designed by Disney, but there's also a healthy dose of realism in the mix as well. And there also may or may not be a connection to the Marvel Universe to sweeten the pot.

4 Dream: The Hundred Acre Wood

If ever there was a perfect setting for the cottagecore medium, it's the Hundred Acre Wood. A cozy woodland realm of make-believe inhabited by cuddly animal friends and apart from an occasional rain shower, the biggest threat one has to worry about is the occasional Heffalump or Woozle encounter.

Certainly a bit saccharine and sweet for some but for many fans, it was the first fictional realm they inhabited growing up. Why wouldn't they want to visit that warm and fuzzy world of Winnie the Pooh?

3 Nightmare: Various “Far Away Lands”

Fictional unnamed kingdoms are a dime a dozen in the world of Disney. Look at movies like Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Beauty and the Beast. All seem enchanting at first, then someone has to invoke the wrath of some magical being.

Enjoying life in a magical kingdom is all sunshine and Alan Menken music until someone ticks off the wrong witch, fairy, or other magical beings. Next thing they know, they're asleep and waiting for true love's kiss.

2 Dream: The Star Wars Galaxy

If variety is what fans are looking for, one can't go wrong with a galaxy far, far away. From the sands of Tatooine to the forest moon of Endor, there are plenty of planets to experience and explore in the realm of Star Wars.

There might be a few wretched hives of scum and villainy out there, but there are also magnificent floating cities, underwater kingdoms, and green forests that make visitors one with the Force. All just a starship ride away.

1 Nightmare: Toontown

Living among favorite cartoon characters in Toontown might sound good on paper, but subjecting oneself to the physics of their world might be hazardous to your health.

Everything's either alive, singing, moving, or trying to thwomp something in a comedic fashion. It's enough to make even the most die-hard cartoon junkie's head spin.
