The Voice: Chrissy Teigen '4 Weeks Sober' During Trip With John Legend

The Voice coach John Legend took his family on a holiday trip to St. Barts, and Chrissy Teigen revealed on social media that she's been sober for four weeks. John joined The Voice as a coach on season 16, which was coincidentally Adam Levine's last year on the show. He has now coached up-and-coming singers on the hit NBC reality series for four seasons, and he's going into a fifth one as season 20 kicks off in 2021. So far, the R&B singer has led one contestant to win the show: season 16 winner Maelyn Jarmon. But in the years since, singers from all walks of life have been excited about joining Team Legend and getting to work with an EGOT recipient throughout this competition.

Now a mainstay The Voice coach, Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award winner John Legend got married to Chrissy Teigen in 2013. Together, they've raised two children over the years. In 2020, the couple unfortunately went through a very painful and heartbreaking miscarriage that Chrissy shared with their fans on social media. Nonetheless, the couple has been pushing through and trying their best to turn things around, at least as much as possible. That includes a holiday trip to St. Barts that John took the family of four to.

Chrissy Teigen has been sharing several pictures of her St. Barts trip with John Legend and their kids. In the comments section of a video featuring a very animated Chrissy, a fan joked that they would like to have "whatever drugs" Chrissy was on. As seen in the screenshot included below, Chrissy obviously understood that this was just a friendly joke, but she still took the opportunity to share huge news with her followers: "4 weeks sober," she replied, adding heart emoji and praying hands emoji in the same comment. Chrissy doesn't have any reported history of substance abuse, but one can assume that 2020 has been particularly tough on her and maybe she felt as though things weren't completely in control. Not only has she dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic in general, but she also went through a tragic miscarriage in the same year.

For now, John Legend is lying low during his winter hiatus from The Voice. But in 2021, John is already confirmed to return to the series alongside co-stars Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and Nick Jonas. There's every reason for fans to be excited about the upcoming season now that the show has figured out how to keep going while taking COVID-19 guidelines into consideration.

While we all wait for The Voice season 20 to premiere on NBC, the fans can keep an eye on the coaches' social media accounts to keep up with what they've been up to during this brief hiatus.
