Disenchantment Season 3 Character Posters Turn The Show's Leads Into Freaks

The character posters promoting Disenchantment season 3 portray the lead characters as carnival freaks. Developed by The Simpsons and Futurama creator Matt Groening, Disenchantment is set in the fantasy kingdom of Dreamland. The series follows Princess Bean, the black sheep of Dreamland's royal family whose constant drinking and general indifference to her surroundings irritate her father, King Zøg. The series features Abbi Jacobson as Bean, Eric Andre as her personal demon Luci, and Nat Faxon as the candy-eating elf Elfo. Though the show received mixed reviews early on, its reception has improved over time, eventually leading Netflix to greenlight a third season.

Netflix just released the character posters for the upcoming season, which will premiere on January 15. They promote seven of the main characters, including Bean, Luci, and Elfo, as carnival sideshow performers and reference several running jokes throughout the series. Luci's poster, for instance, makes light of how people often confuse him for a cat. See all seven Disenchantment posters below:

Disenchantment season 3 is expected to pick up where the last season left off, as Bean, Luci, and Elfo were last seen stuck in a catacomb surrounded by the dark-eyed Trogs. If the new trailer for season 3 is any indication, the series will start to heavily incorporate Steamland, a technologically advanced steampunk country that seems to have complicated relations with Dreamland. Disenchantment's popularity has steadily improved since its debut, and the plot's departure from Dreamland may be the new direction the show needs to keep its fans engaged.
