Why RHOC Alum Peggy Tanous Thinks The Housewives Are Addicted To Money

Former housewife Peggy Tanous is speaking out against her former Real Housewives of Orange County cast mates and their obsession with money.

Peggy joined the cast of RHOC for season 6 and did not return as a full time cast member after that. She did make some appearances in season 7, but never appeared again. During her time on the show, Peggy was known as someone who believed in living a clean and natural life, but had the odd plastic surgery procedure every now and again. It seems as though Peggy left the spotlight after her time of the show, but now is has reappeared from her off-camera life.

According to Cheat Sheet, Peggy appeared on the popular podcast Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef, recently were she spoke about how her former cast members became money hungry due to the show. “I think the longer you’re on it also becomes about the paycheck,” she shared with the podcast host. "I mean, for me, I felt like if I quit now, the money’s not that great. So I might as well just do it now, like cut the cord now. But if I was to stay, the longer you’re on, the more opportunities come to you, the more money comes.” Peggy did not hold back much, revealing her thoughts on the ladies from the OC. She recalled a story she read about Vicki Gunvalson and that she was officially done with the show during season 13. "She felt like she was really done, but then she still came back...I think it becomes like addicting because then the money is so good you’re like, well, ‘Gosh, it would be stupid to give up this money that I can put away for my future.’" Fan will recall that Vicki did come back for season 14, but as a "friend of" and not a full time cast member.

Peggy also believes Tamra Judge did not return for season 15 because she did not want to be a "friend of". "I read somewhere Tamra was talking about not coming back this year. And I think she had even said, ‘I was actually praying that they would call and say, you’re not coming back’," Peggy recalled. The former housewife believes that if they wanted Tamra back, full time, the money would be so good she wouldn't of been able to turn it down. "Then if they call and say, ‘Well, you’re not going to come back, but you can come back for three episodes.’ Then that’s why she was like, ‘Forget it. I’m not going to do it,’ she added. Although, Peggy was not too surprised when she heard Vicki would not be returning to the show. “I actually thought that it might happen sooner,” she remarked. “Because I think that when a franchise goes so long, you naturally just start changing things up.” Peggy was shocked when she found out Vicki was returning to season 14 as a "friend of" and not a full time cast member. While she may have been surprised at first, she soon realized the ridiculous amount of money these women have been making is why they keep returning season after season to a show that most of them don't even enjoy being on.

Money can be a dangerous weapon to a housewife from any city. If the money is right, they are willing to stay on for as long as Bravo will have them, especially the women from RHOC.
