The Voice: Everything to Know About Ian Flanigan From Team Blake

Ian Flanigan wowed The Voice judges with his unique voice at the blind auditions. As he continues on in the music competition show, here's everything we know about the country singer.

Ian impressed all of the coaches with his performance of Zac Brown Band's "Colder Weather" on the Monday, October 19 episode of The Voice. But it was Blake Shelton who got out of his chair once the song was over and expressed his amazement with Ian's vocal ability. “Where is your beard that’s supposed to go from here to there," Blake jokingly asked. "Your hat, your giant beer gut, all the stuff that goes along with that voice that you have? How is that possible?” The 30-year-old went on to reveal that he's an active musician who lives in a motor home while touring full-time with his family.

In a FabTV video highlighting him as part of Team Blake, Ian described his singing style as "pretty unique." He went on to explain what makes his vocal range so innovative. "I'm trying to be as authentic to myself as I can be," he said. Following his blind audition, the coaches talked about the sound of Ian's voice and his range. It's something he discussed while acknowledging he tries to control it the best he can. "I guess it is very raspy at times," he shared. "I try to not be too raspy."

While many would be quick to name him as a country singer, the musician explained how he incorporates soul into his folk-style of music. "I think soulful is an expression more than a genre," he declared. "So I try to express myself from my soul. But I guess technically it might be more Americana folk. I don't really know." The recently-engaged singer took to his Instagram page earlier this month to share his relationship milestone with his followers. "This beautiful woman and I are getting married," he shared."No luckier man on the planet. Looking forward to the rest of our lives." You can see his sweet engagement post below:

Ian often shares photos of him and his family on tour. "Life on the road," he captioned one photo of his fiancé and daughter. His daughter was right by his side in another photo of his tour appearance in Texas back on February 25. Coach Kelly Clarkson previously told Ian he has a voice that could take him traveling around the world, and it's clear that he has successfully found a way to live out his musical dreams while keeping his family right by his side.
